We take a look at an old granite quarry on the property of a dry stone wall workshop participant. In the 1800's small quarries like this one were common in many areas of New England.
I live on Cape Ann and walk the old quarries frequently...always interesting...lots of history. "Hammers on Stone" by Barbara Erkkila is a terrific book about the granite industry on Cape Ann
