I'm puzzled. In the past we were told to buy a character to stop ads "forever". I did that. And, have also bought lots of characters vs just winning them (in the past 9 nine yrs since I started playing CR when it launched). Why does this release say we now have to pay $9 (essentially) to stop ads if we already did so - and for not great characters/environment? If we update, will the annoying, ads after every single character run start again unless we pay that big chunk of money? What happens if we want to watch some optional ads to earn extra points (& help Hipster with eyeball views to sponsor ads - as I've been doing)? I saw posts online that said the layout changed (negatively) with the update and part of the play area is now blocked on tablets, etc. (I only play on a Samsung tablet).
So I’m not sure if it’ll reset after just making a purchase, but I did buy the ad blockers and the extra “watch an ad for rewards thing” is still there except instead of “watch ads for a free reward” it’s just “free reward” pretty cool and helps with grinding l
I paid for ad free gameplay the first year the game came out. Now, I'm told I need to buy it agian. So like a fool I did so my son could enjoy it on my phone. NOW, i'm told I need to buy it agian for my tablet. Pass this game is not worth it.
I see your point and frustration… at the same time 9 bucks to disable ads on a game that’s been tried and tested over 9 years seems fair. If you have been playing from the start that’s $1 per year. Seems reasonable. (I am NOT in favor of subscriptions don’t get me wrong)
@@CJ_Walks Sorry, I don't agree with you. Because I've been playing and buying characters for 9 years, since the start, I've been told - and Paid! - two previous times that if I "buy [such & such characters] ads will be removed forever". That is a quote from CR. It is deceptive and untrue because there have been escalating, repeated 'never again' charges plus UI changes that negatively impact playing experience on devices like mine. Reported bugs don't get fixed over a period of years. I used to look so forward to new CR. updates. Now I'm frozen in time before the Xmas 2023 release because of these ad & UI issues. I missed getting those little Xmas characters or any since then.

Hey, Photics I have secret characters you should make videos about, Dragon Rider: Unlock SnowKing from tickets, them play 8-10 matches with him.
Inky: play as pac man and get a score of 3,000 throughout multiple matches. Pinky: Play as PAC man and find pixelated cherries as you play through the area
Clyde: Play as PAC MAN and collect the Power Pellet and eat at least 7 Ghosts (Blue ones)not inky). Anyways luv your vids photics
@@HauntsGamer Pinky is problem. It's where I stopped trying to make videos for every last secret Crossy Road character.
I haven't seen a cherry… not recently… and I looked a lot… *_A LOT_* … and yet I was able to unlock Pinky. It was a matter of collecting ~100 pellets. Collect enough pellets and the game makes that cherry eating sound.
Except, I didn't catch the 16:9 footage when it happened. I redid it using the iPad version of the game on my MacBook Air, but that doesn't have audio and doesn't look as nice… it's 4:3.
Just this morning I was thinking about trying the Pinky video again, but I made brownies… they were amazing… so that's probably the next video. 😄

I mean I’m happy to give you 9 bucks to own the game, despite y’know, that being kinda silly with respect to modern game pricing. I don’t like that that’s not where the micro transactions end. If this was a one size fits all kinda deal, and I also unlocked the other special modes bundled, then that’s a different story. I don’t get this pricing rn, you’ll never ever make $9 off of me watching ads, even if I click the optional ad button 20 times every day. Even a single dollar is kinda crazy off ads alone.

Step 3 - Locate the gear icon ⚙
Step 4 - Click / Tap that icon
