When people try to be privacy advocates, they are shunned and spoken down to. Common responses are, "Well I've got nothing to hide." Yes, yes, you do Privacy and security are important and everyone should know how to take care of their stuff. Do what you can to protect yourself. On the other end of the spectrum, did these people really need to break in, steal all these celebrities photos and share them? No they did not, and they are deplorable for it.
My most favourite and dire example: Even if the ppl gathering the data are harmless you'll never know what happens when this data is found by the wrong ppl. The Netherlands mass-stored the religion of every citizen before ww2, right next to their names and addresses. No problem until the Nazis came, looked at those records and suddenly had a nice list of whom to kill. And those are just about basic information, not even private photos, messages etc.
Even if you don't think you have anything to hide, third parties can get really close to you through information that seems trivial to you. And even if you don't have anything to hide right now, you don't know what the future will bring.
Kind of makes me angry. What about the girls who aren't rich enough to have the FBI investigate her nudes being released. This is the price you pay for your fame and money
I don't. They already didn't have privacy and they get paid such an incredible amount of money. If they don't like living in the limelight, stop being a celeb.
I hated the hypocrisy of this because there is so much darker stuff on the net CP,Documented Murder,Teror recruitment propaganda,Cyber black markets,Cyber weapons catologues and so much more and its largely ignored but nudes of celebs on the internet and the world freaking ends
The question rather is, would there be as much investigation and/or action from the government or media be if it were not celebrities, but rather normal people? Seeing that the persons in question were already trading in a lot of images of a lot more people long before this happened shows that the answer would probably be not. So IMO the public`s reaction of being indifferent is fair, as they would not get the same preferential treatment (or rather not treated at all). What I find more damaging and more attention should be giving to the lack of knowledge being spread by the media and the government on steps how to prevent this from happening to you.
Yes, There was a Major Similar Situation when a Dating Plateform for Affairs (meaning Married Men) got Leaked a lot of lives ruined and There have Been a Big Investigation and People Got Caught. It was Covered on Fern or Hoog and if Am mistaken it was Covered By Patrick CC
It all falls back on the parents. Parents need to teach their boys to respect a girls boundaries and not pressure them to do anything they’re not comfortable with. And parents need to teach their daughters about trust and not succumbing to pressure from their bfs or friends, and not pressure other girls or female friends to do things they’re not comfortable with. Look at the rape kit backlog in this country. Agencies can’t even take rape seriously enough to test evidence and put away rapists. Protecting teens and women from getting hacked is way low on the totem pole of importance.
What kind of shitty security does apple have if it doesn't detect the same IP accessing so many different accounts to at least flag it as suspicious? Regardless if the account owner got phished, these are major flaws in preventive security
It probably wasn't even checked, it was just stored info, then when they started digging someone though "let's check ip duplicates". Now it's probably monitored.
IT here. Sadly IP based security is not great. Many user use VPN when they connect from untrustworthy network (as they should). As a result, on the server side, you receive the ip of one of the vpn proxy. As a result, it is not uncommon to have many ip for one account, or many account for one ip.
@@DNX3M of course, it's the endless race between security and hackers. When this happened nobody cared about hiding ip and now tracking ip (as a security measure) is pointless.

Men with public perversive behavior are disgusting, but men with extreme private perversive habits are filth of this earth.
It’s crazy to see the amount of people in here going at the celebrities for the authorities taking them more seriously. The answer to somebody not being taken seriously isn’t to make sure that the next person doesn’t get taken seriously, it’s to improve the entire situation. Otherwise we may as well be Dogs ripping at each other. There’s two kinds of people in the world. People who had a hard life who think everybody else should have a hard life, or somebody who has a hard life who doesn’t want somebody else to experience what they experienced. Pick one!

Porbably ironically a good thing that AI has gotten so good at creating imagery lately. People probably will care less for compromising images because everybody knows it's impossible to tell if anything is real anymore. And celebs can always say it's all fake anyway.
One thing to add, which I think is a scary prospect: A lot of people who were active on Anon-IB were people working in the government and the military. @@DudeWatIsThis what is a "huuar" 😭😭 but anyway ok sure, however exposing/trading someone's nudes is on a whole different level from just "trolling." since women are usually targets, the daughters and wives of the men in this video could definitely be susceptible to it. and then, since these men are actively doing this, it rly makes u question what they would think if the same thing happened to their wife or daughter, and so them being fathers with great influence over their female family members' lives is just a little concerning because of that, if that makes sense lol. also, trading these womens' photos online just for fun definitely speaks to how much these men value and respect women (probably not much!) which again makes it weirder for these men to be fathers. serial muggers aren't great candidates for fatherhood either but that doesn't detract from the fact that serial nude-seekers (or whatever u wanna call them) aren't great for it either
People often hope men with families, like wives and daughters, will respect other women the way they hope others would respect their daughters. He wouldn't want another man to do that to his family. On top of that, he had nudes of his underage stepdaughter or something like that. It's in the video.

@@IdeI2StOnEd???? white knight? Im sorry is repecting peoples privacy exclusive to men or women? this is not gendered, I would be incredibly upset if someone stole data from me that is an equivalent level of privacy as nude photoes.
Also how is believing in peoples right to privacy worse than treating people like objects??????
Such a weird comment
@@saltblood I think we all know that. Hollywood or the music buisness often exploits women for their looks and many had to do degrading things to get where they are.
All I did was stating why people were amused by this leak, not in any way saying that it was good or that women should be exploited.
I just wanted to say I absolutely love your videos. Most RUclips essay RUclipsrs use stock images and videos with narration in the background. However, you take time to animate and find images that are actually related to the event.
ummmm. it's AI he even gets sponsored to say it
@@gabrielk2665 ummmm. it's not. The creation of this vid had nothing to do with it's sponsor. Plus, AI can't make those advanced 3d animations. Everything is well researched and a language model wouldn't output anything related to p rn. Get your facts straight.
I doubt it
@@veezopolis Thanks for your input! The creator of fern did a podcast a while back, give it a listen and your mind might change.
wild how so many celebs fell for phishing and used public info for secret questions......
Celebrities may be public figures but that does not make them public property.
Lesson: 1) don't take nude photos of yourself; 2) don't trust emails asking you to reset your password.
Can someone explain to me why people are so obsessed with taking nude photos of themselves? Celebs especially. They own mirrors, they know artsy photogs, they see themselves everywhere already….like WHY do you need to take so many nudes of yourself? I really just do not understand it.
Massive ego. They feel worshipped so much they feel like gods, they think their own image is the best thing they can see on this planet.
lol a lot of the time ppl take them to send to partners so theres that too
Most people who take nudes send them to their partner. Citation: am in a relationship
oh my god. one of those five people live three blocks away from me. i’ve talked to him on multiple occasions. i can’t fathom that he has the ability to sleep at night knowing he did that while having a family
I'd say it's pretty funny
Remember there is no cloud. There is just someone you don't know storing your information. Friends don't let friends do the "cloud".
Who would've thought that horrible miserable people with unrestricted access to the internet would have led to horrible things happening
Not an AI advert 🥴
Celebrity is phished out of nude photos: FBI gets involved
Countless elderly people get scammed out of their life savings: -/-
you have to be insane to take those photos too
Wendy Williams making a joke out of all this...and then seeing where she is now...makes you wonder huh
