Yeah, after wasting several hours with mine, with just a few simple steps I fixed this problem once and for all with my TomTom XL. Step 1: sit the unit on a tabletop, Step2: align a rubbish bin under the end of the table, Step3:, Using your preferred right of left hand, sweep the unit into the bin . Final step - Go out and buy a Garmin Sat Nav and never buy another TomTom product ever again, Hope this helped.........
Ran into the same with the two I bought - yes, I was dum enough to buy two. One died on a trip. The second decided to say - NO MAPS FOUND. That was it. TomTom Support is only if you are in the UK - their HQ. I'll never get another
Just press power multiple times quick , faster faster . And the sat nav will wake up to reality . Make sure that the battery is not dry empty . Mine had the same ( issue ) now is awake waiting for new instructions .

I transferred all data from old tomtom to my misconfiguration one. First ...right click to format and remove all files .Then copy and paste files from working tomtom. Then Open files from c drive. copy and paste into unworkable gps.

Hi all, after 5 years with my Tomtom XL canada 310 N14644 blocked with the same problem as this video. it still bllocked after trying all solution found on the web. I describe the solution very simple way that unlocked my gps and run as it first day (five years after). - Connect tomtom to the pc - turn on tomtom , if tomtom home launching then turn off this programme - open explorer on the pc - right click on the drive tomtom and choose properties - click on tools - click on check (this option will check the drive with files system errors) and leave it to work (some seconds) and it display the message that it found and corrected files - Look for the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the taskbar and remove the drive tom tom - turn off tomtom and start or restart it This solution saved my TOM TOM, i hope to helping some other desesperates users. What a dumb company, mine tomtom xl2 was working fine till i decided to connect it to pc and launch home app. After updates i turn it on and TADa: red screen with words Problem with maps😂😂😂srsly this app ruin mine nice working device and now its bricked😂
TOMTOM is way over rated and over priced hence the reason I will never buy another one. I have now switched to Garmin which to me is way ahead and less expensive and also free updates for life. TOMTOM thinks people are stupid!

for me its works but tomtom home doesn't allow to update the map !! so I still have few years old MAP
my tom tom xl iq touch screen all of a sudden quit working.
It just stopped on the time select and then you had to try it over and over again.
Tom Tom said this one is out of date they won't even let me get maps anymore.so they made me get a....go 620....but xL iq is out of date.

They got me to, the scumbags. My XL30 works perfect till I got a email from tomtom. It's time to update maps. The fing thing never worked again.

The same thing happened to me, with a Via 130. It stopped working completely after I bought a map update.

tom tom does not support these old models anymore. no more update on this Tom as of Nov.15 2016.

Same here bought a tomtom map to update old one that someone gave me and memory seems damaged. Was working till I tried the update ...

FastActivate, activates maps , voices, so on, Runs only on win , you activate it from your pc
