I own the A4000, A5000 and the Wu Zetian x HBB ~ i rank it the same as you... your description really resonate with me, finally found someone with fairly similar ears. Can't wait for more of your reviews!!!
I really like the Performer 5; great tone, bass, and zero fatigue, but suffers in technicalities. Hook-X HBB is my current #1 IEM for music and balanced audio reproduction. ZSN Pro still kicks ass, as well as the excellent ZAS.
It is a rarity. That has decent technicalities. With the amount of bass that it has it should not have this level of finesse but it does so in a good enough manner.
I have the A5000, P5, EA500, Hexa, Galileo, Hola and Waner. Your ranking is fair and similar to how I feel about them. Your review of the Final A5000 helped with my purchase decision. Happy to see it rank high :)
@@mensrea1251 I have never tried the A4000 before so I can't give you a fair comparison. I really like the bass response and treble extension on the A5000. I think the only area I wish it was slightly better is with vocals. It's not very forward and can feel sometimes veiled behind the other frequencies. Other than that, great with instrumentals!
I just got that Aful 5 after my Salnotes 0's left driver went quiet on me. Windows also weirdly removed the l/r balance option for my DAC, so I had to use some janky 3rd party equalizer to fix the balance. But even after rebalancing it, the overal sound of the left side was just muffled. Still, for how cheap the Salnotes 0 were, I guess I can't complain. (I should add that I only concluded the damage after taking all other steps like testing different cables, DAC and other devices, as well as cleaning)
Great job ranking these IEMs man! I just have 1 question- How would u rate the 1 custom pm- 01? Is it better than the S12 pro and the ie 200 in ur opinion? (Especially in terms of technicalities)
Interesting list order 😂 I didn’t expect - EA500 to take top spot - Hola and Wan’er to be ahead of everything in the decent range - Hexa to be ahead of Heyday and Orcestra Lite
I have something new coming up that I think will beat the Hola and Waner. Review should come later this week :) Hexa is a rare signature in this pricepoint. I do feel that it is more detailed than the Orchestra Lite
@@SuperChonk i have the tangzu waner, do you see this ew100p more as a sidegrade then a little upgrade soundwise? I am also thinking in maybe buying the simgot ea500 or the truthear hexa.
Awsome list, thank you. There are a couple of very simple mods you can do on the EA500, to increase the bass, making it even better. The mods involve taping filters onto the forward facing vent (next to thr nozzle). Interestingly you rate the 7hz Legatonreally highly. I'll have to check it out.
Great list & very well informed too. I've not yet tried gizaudio's iem since it has not come to my country yet. How do they compare to letshour s12 since I'm getting it at around the same price.
I have to disagree about the Kato. It does have a slight upper midrange boost but nothing irritating. Vocals (female) are great. Some tips do make it brighter sounding. But with quite a few tips it won't sound like that. You should try other tips. But Kato is definitely in the GOOD category
@@SuperChonk nice. I think maybe they use the same driver but tuned differently. But they are almost half price as timeless AE. So i probably be very happy. Have usbc dongle coming in tomorrow. Think the S12 will be better than my hexa as well and im gonna get the EA500 now too
I have both thr Aful Performer 5 & the 7HZ Legato on the way. I have mixed feelings about the Hexa. They're such a poor build; sometimes they sound great - sometimes meh. I got them the same day as the Dura Kima, and I use the Kima a lot - they're super neutral & do everything competently... but for music, I just can't deny that the KZ PR1 PRO are my outright favourites. That was my first batch of IEMS after the Salnotes Zero - the gateway drug!!! Also have KZ PR2 in the way... they were 23 USD & I just couldn't resist out of burning curiosity, given my love for the 3x PR1 PRO... although it seems like a bad decision for KZ to be releasing a PR2 when thr PR1 PRO are so highly rated to the point even super casual fans are hearing about them. @@SuperChonkhmmm I tried different tuning styles within the $100 and under budget space and to my limited experience I like the Hola/Olina SE/ 7Hz Zero neutral balanced tune because they work for the song genre I listen to so far (rock, indie, hip hop, movie scores, Witcher 3 soundtrack, tiktok trendy songs, etc). Are there any genres where you think those IEMs don’t work too well? Also I couldn’t get myself to appreciate the EA500 or Hexa as much as others even though I was excited for them- was a sad day. 😭

Do you think the Truthear Hola is easy to drive? Some people told me that it needs quite a bit more power than most budget IEMs under $20. Well, for me it's a bummer if I need to buy higher level DAC/AMP which probably pricier than the Hola itself. Currently i'm using the Tangzu Wan'er using Realtek ALC5868 DAC dongle that is only $10. If I'm gonna get the Hola, do I need to upgrade my DAC?
If you have the Waner, i don't think you should get the Hola as its at best a side grade. You are better off looking at a level up such as the Simgot EA500 or The Truthear Hexa. If you are looking for a affordable and good dongle, the Colourfly CDA M1 is excellent as well!
@@SuperChonk That dongle is still pricy for me but I'm gonna reserach on it more, thanks for that. Also I want your opinion for the best budget (maybe sub-50$?) IEMs for vocals, I like it to be neutral sounding. I know Tanchjim Ola and HZ Heartmirror is great but they're pretty old I think.. I want the set to have a good soundstage and details. Is there other newer IEMs that can compete them? If not, between the two which one would you choose? I tought Hola's vocal is great but it's not exacly what I wanted since it's just a sidegrade from my Wan'er like you said. I need to buy some other things too that matters more.. Also thanks for reading and answering to my questions! I really really appreciate it.
@@KleeGamign Actually most $20 iems are side grades. Just a different flavor for similar technicalities. I will be posting the Simgot EW100p review tomorrow. I think that sounds a bit better than the waner.

I have both ea500 and orchestra lite, but I think the orchestra lite if better than ea500 especially in terms of detail retrieval and overall technical performance.. I also had the hexa before, to which I think inferior than the former two. now, you put the orchestra lite a lower tier than ea500, and also behind hexa in the tier, I really disagree
@@SuperChonk how things are women just dont care about logic and calculating sound signatures usually. Just give them the big V shape and let them have the pretty ones. Women.
I'm not a Wan'er fan. I bought a set to use as a daily beater that I wouldn't care if I lost or broke. They didn't fit my ear canals well and were uncomfortable. I also didn't care much for the sound even after I was able to get a good seal. I guess I just expected more from them after everyone hyped them up. Are they worth $20? Sure because $20 is nothing in this hobby. There's a difference between good and good for the price. These two things are not the same .
