Billy Bob’s diatribe concerning “green energy” and wind turbines was so spot on and so true! I worked as a Land Secretary, Landman and Division Order Analyst in several Texas Oil Companies in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and I loved every minute of it.
Holy cow you are so incredibly gullible! And you truly have no idea what you are talking about and have obviously never educated yourself. From mining the raw materials to the manufacturing process of the wind machine to the delivery to the job site and installation and maintenance over the lifetime of the wind machine, makes up for roughly only 5% of the total energy it will produce over its lifetime!! So sad that you are just another gullible uneducated American disgracing the dignity of our country.

It's is the only series where in the opening 10min this was my favourite series. Billy Bob had me hook line and sinker in less than 10min, his opening scenes brilliant he was born for this role❤❤❤
Another excellent serving from Taylor! My opinion but I could not after watching the first 2 episodes imagine anyone other than Billy Bob pulling off the part. Damn he is great! Billy Bob IS The LANDMAN! So looking forward to the rest of the episodes.
I hold this remarkable series in high regard. The performances showcased by the cast are truly exemplary. The production offers valuable insight into the oil industry, highlighting the experiences of everyone, from the oil derrick workers to the executive leadership.
@@chapellezag1840I personally didn’t think it was good. I watched the first season and blew off the second. Personally I enjoyed the prequels of the Yellowstone series far more.
I really enjoy the show especially Billy Bob Thornton. I have done business with job foremen, team leaders in industry of construction fabrication and drilling. BBT has this character nailed down. He’s not portraying a stereotype.
I just started watching the show. I was a landman for a couple of years after college. Then the bust happened and everything died. But 2 of my uncles were in the production part. One of my uncles was independent and he and my aunt lived all over the world. My aunt had to take Portuguese language lessons to talk with the help at the house. My uncle said she was getting straight Ds. My other uncle was pretty high up at a major company that is still in business. I had heard of all these things happening when I stayed with them. Everyone was always on call. Every family took 2 cars to church. Back in the 80s I remember pagers going off all during the church sermons and men just getting up and walking out. It’s a hard life.
This is *such* a good show. And no, you don't need to know anything about working the "patch" to understand and follow it. It's very much a *human* story, and that's the interesting part. And I do have to agree with Ali. Some of Billy Bob's monologues are absolutely top-tier. I'm talking James Spader as Raymond Reddinton-monologue level.
@@philipflores2515right? They clearly did not hire a real legit consultant. So many wrong things and the storyline is predictable and his stale writing.

One of the most profound statements in the movie was "if Exxon really thought these things (windmills) were the future they would be everywhere". Great series, definitely one for "the boys"
I think this show is very intertwining!! I have enjoyed the monologues that were spoken of....and I do see the oil company in a new light....I would really like this show to be a hit....I think a season two would be great!!!!❤
Best series by far. Just when you think Taylor writes the best series he surprises us with the next best one. We haven’t had good a TV series since the 90s. Thank you Taylor for giving us something to look forward to each week.
What is with that head piece Billy? Having actually worked on three real drilling rigs in Texas and Louisiana. One that had recently fell down while running pipe back in the hole before I worked on it. One well I was on was a 22,825 ft. dry hole on an island in the Mississippi river in Baton Rouge. What is shown on Landman is a smaller workover rig that does not drill wells. That scene where the guy up in the Derrek gets hurt and they send the worm up happened to me. The worm is the newest guy on the crew and what happened was we were running 2" tubing that was too tall to unlatch from the board where the derrick hand works from. The derrick hand climbed up in the girders to unlatch and I would pull the tubing back and stand it in the rack. All I can say is my legs never quit shaking as I leaned out looking straight down 90' to the rig floor. Yes I had a belt, a rope and a cable attached to it and that board is less than two feet wide out there. I have to say though I ended up liking it more up there than down on the floor and used to go up and let the derrick hand take a break many times tripping pipe after that. What you see on this show is nothing compared to what it is like drilling the wells.
Awesome show! My new #1. I really don't know when Taylor Sheridan finds time to sleep with all the shows he's putting out. I'm watching Lioness, Tulsa King and Landman weekly. I wish he'd finish the stories on 1883 and 1923, it pisses me off to no end to be left hanging! And could somebody please tell me where to watch Yellowstone Season 5 part B?
I think Taylor’s setting a crossover, Dutton’s to Guthrie TX, Billy Bobs out in Midland TX, Stallone is in Tulsa. Are we going to see a business meeting with Billy, John, Stallone and Beth?
Landman is a beautiful piece of work by Taylor Sheridan. The cast are outstanding and the storytelling is next level. BBT just gets better as time goes on and the performances of Jon Hamm, Demi Moore and Ali Larter are outstanding. This is the type of television that makes money, not woke DEI crap that isn’t real world.
Having spent a little bit of time working for ARCO in Midland, they kind of combined the jobs of Landman & Company Man together. They do not typically exist as one job. Either way the show is fantastic.
They keep saying they filmed all this in Fort Worth. I’ve lived in Texas all of my life, and live in west Texas. This doesn’t look like anywhere in Fort Worth I’ve ever seen.
My Oilfield days were some of the greatest days of my life! Rough as they were, it was a great time to be young, then when the the oil bust hit. Just the opposite.
Been a good while since something new came on that i really enjoyed. Having worked a few years in the oilfield when i was just out of high school down in that same area (Monahans area near Odessa) it was kind of cool to see those jobs come to life. One thing though, i got paid pretty well for the time (1983-1985), but it damn sure wasnt anywhere near 180K, even factor inflation. Note: i stand corrected. Just checked and i actually was making the equivalent of 180K.
I'm watching this show for the dialogue. I don't like the F-bomb all the time, or the sex, or the double entendre. But when you get past the garbage, the pure dialog is really good. Tommy gave a great truthful speech about the oil industry recently that was great. "If Exon thought windmills were the future, they would be putting them up everywhere" They didn't go liberal woke garbage.
All I know about this show 'Landman' is that it breaks the clutter which gluts streaming and network services in content streaming,, but it definitely needs writers, that much also is true... for somebody who has been studying fuels for such long time, and being a writer I know this fact, I have asked WGF LA to be put in touch with them, their programs either come very late to me, or Katie Buckland sends me the last.. but my experienced writers eye tells me they need writers to create it into one of winning, aware, and excellent show which lets world finally know what and who has been making it happen in fast motion of their modern life and that it yes, ends at some point.
I will say, that it is Billy Bob Thornton's performance that brings the show all together. His accent and his mannerisms are what sell the believability of his character and its his ability to blend that into a corporate cowboy hybrid persona that lends realism to what the show is all about.
