FS RSH-10 Thunderbeam Siren Test, St. Louis Park, MN - 4/15/21 (Minnesota Tornado Drill)

*This siren has since been replaced with a 2001-130.
I met up with Duncan (Elevators & Sirens of MSP) at this RSH-10 Thunderbeam located in Dakota Park on 26th Street and Dakota Avenue in St. Louis Park. It sounded a 5 minute alert for the 2021 Minnesota Statewide Tornado Drill. This was the 6:45 sounding. There were several baseball games going on in the park, so there's a bit of background noise. Sirens in Hennepin County as well as the majority of Minnesota are typically tested on the 1st Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM.

aka "Birdcages" - Always liked the principle of these with the downward chopper and the angled rotating sound reflector disk within the open mesh "cage" assembly... If I remember right, these came out around the early/mid 80s...

Does Osseo MN still have their thunderbeam? I haven't been towards that way since 2019 then covid hit the following year. The siren on their downtown water tower is not apart of the county warning system. it blows daily at noon and 6pm

Richfield MN and Vandnals Heights MN Replaced their Thunderbeams but St Louis Park MN opted not to I wonder why this one is a hold out I guess

St. Louis Park actually had 4 at one point. This is the last thunderbeam left in the city. The other 3 were replaced with 2001-130's. And when did Vadnais Heights replace their beam? I thought it was still up.
