How do I send a message to a number that's not in my contacts? Do I have to create a contact first and then use it? How do I create a contact? Can't I just select the pen icon to create a text and then type in a one off phone number that I have no particular interest in keeping in my contacts list?
Thank you for the valuable information. However being a senior its going to take me sometime to work on it! In the meantime I installed the app but must have done something wrong as in the message bar where I type it says 'Unsecured SMS' which is a little unnerving. Can you help please?
Hi Jenny, It seems that you're using an Android phone (which can also allow you to set Signal as your default SMS app). If the person you're trying to message doesn't have Signal installed yet, you'll see the Unsecured SMS message. You can invite that person to start using Signal so you can communicate securely. Signal doesn't allow for scheduling of messages. They're all sent in real-time
