    That’s believable because if you look at his races with Bolt, he always gets off to a fast start. Bolt just runs him down.

    Everyone’s so used to seeing the nfl combine that they think that’s the fastest thing ever. A professional track athlete that’s an Olympic medalists has way different speed than an nfl player. It’s not even close bruh.

      @@stix1096 according to a good friend of mine that ran in track at one point. I was told 90% of them elite runners are juicing. Which is believable as well. Which is why Christian Coleman didn’t run for a minute. When it was time to get tested Coleman didn’t show up which would indicate he was juicing. There has also been speculation about usain as well. 🤷🏾‍♂️

      @@alpojr21 put it like this. Jahvid Best ran a 4.35 40 and a 10.16 100m. Now he's competed in some high level events as both a track guy and sprints. Justin Gatlin ran 9.74 100m. I doubt he ran sub 4.2.

    It’s all in the start…Gatlin always had a great start in his races and gets to full speed quickly. I can definitely believe that 3.9

      Also he was almost always the top guy, or just about, in the first half of the 100 meters, when Bolt would beat him it was always at least at the halfway point or further, ...when that stride in relation to his 6'5" height, kicked in. Almost like the Derrick Henry of sprinters with Justin being almost like a Jamal Charles, (coincidentally also a former track sprinter that could run in the high 4.2's - low 4.3's at over 200 lbs)

    I’ve been blessed to run with pro track athletes while being the slowest guy on a collegiate track team. I was a fast football player but a 4.4 40 would not compete in collegiate track, let alone pro!! They gave us 10 meters on a marginal pro and he was next to us at 30 to 40 meters depending on our levels. Of course he caught me at 30 meters😂😂😂

    Also not to mention a HUGE factor which is in the combine the clock starts when the athlete moves. In track the athletes have to react to the gun adding at least .1-.2 sec. When Bolt ran his 4.22 in basically sweats and boat shoes he also had to react to someone yelling "GO!" If he did it the combine way in his prime with cleats, no doubt he'd easily be under 4

    It takes a lot to convince a primary football fan that sub 4 isn’t impossible, “4.4 40” is the top term because you gotta pair that speed with being 200+ lbs. The guys running 4.1’s and under are usually smaller and do track exclusively

    Just like track speed doesn’t transfer to football speed, a sprinter like Justin Gatlin who has one of the greatest starts ever makes a 3.9 very believable. 90% of the 40 is the first 10. Gatlin would be accelerating at 40 when most would be maintaining at best.

    Anybody remember when DK Metcalf ran that 100m race and went 10.46? At the combine he went 4.33. Gatlin runs a 9.74 which is substantially faster. If you've ever run track you know that a .7 sec difference is like a mile. Gatlin is also a great starter and even deadlier in shorter sprints. I believe his 3.9 absolutely.

    For some more perspective, I had the privilege to run track at UMass with Andy Isabella (2019 2nd round draft pick to the Cardinals, after Murray) I think that year he was the fastest WR in the draft and ran a 4.31. When he was at the peak of his track career, he had a 100m PR of 10.5, which is FLYING. At the combine he wasn't training for track specifically and he was heavier so I'd imagine he was probably in like 10.7 shape and STILL ran a 4.31. Gatlin's 100m PR is 9.74 so he's a full second faster than a guy who ran a 4.31... long story short, his story is absolutely believable

    Bolt has officially ran like a 4.17 40. It's official and you can look it up. And if you watch the races with Bolt vs. Gatlin, Gatlin normally gets outta the gate faster. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    I believe him...an old trackstar that went to Albany State in the 80's ran an 8.6 in 100 meters and 3.6 in 40 yard dash...he was a short dude bout 4'8 but he was the fastest dude we ever seen...and he woulda been a famous athlete but he got sprung out on drugs...but he still holds the record for that school till this day
