That goal @5:20 by Crosby is insane, and you barely reacted, so just thought I'd point this out. He's on his backhand, which is already typically a weaker shot, and he takes one hand off the stick. Elevating a puck with a one-handed backhand shot is absolutely nuts.
those lacrosse-style goals in the beginning aren't common by any means, but they've seen a recent uptick in recent years. kids coming into the league trying all sorts of crazy stuff man
seeing any non hockey player react or non hockey fan react is amazing yo all give props when it due you kind of understand big moments its awesome to see keep it up
You gotta go to a hockey game no matter what team it is. The environment is awesome and energetic, easily the most entertaining sport. Im a huge hockey fan and roller hockey player. Gotta keep it up with the hockey stuff dude! 🔥❤️(note: those goals were they pick it up on their sticks are called Michigans because the first player to do it was on the Michigan college hockey team I believe, they don’t happen often, it’s kinda rare)
I second this. It doesn't even have to be NHL. There's a local minor league team in the city where I live and I go to a few of their games every season. Always a good time.
If you're looking for just pure goal scoring you have to check out Alex Ovechkin highlights as well. He currently has 861 career goals and is well on pace to break the all-time NHL goals record of 894 which is currently held by the great Wayne Gretzky. This record was for a long long time thought to be unbeatable, yet he is likely about to do it this season. Only one of his goals was featured in this video but he has some absolutely unbelieveable goals throughout his career.
Another awesome reaction🏒🥅🏒 ☺❤ there are so many great moments in Hockey, like body checking, Penalty Shots, fights, it's endless. Looking forward to more 👍and thank you for doing them.

The lacrosse goal, the puck is held on the stick by physics of momentum, its rare to see those goals but they're happening more often. You can knock the puck down with your hands if not a goalie but must play it to yoursrlf and you're not supposed to actualy grab it. You might have to watch some scraps now....I'll subscribe if you watch "alex ovechkin Im a beast" lol
whoever touches the puck last on the scoring team if it bounces of an opposing team player its the player or if it bounces of a teammate in and in the goal its the player who it bounced off who gets the goal. and if a player hits a star player and its dirty there will infact be a fight.. its a point in hockey that you stand up for your teammates, everyone blocks shots. the puck can touch anywhere on the body but if there is a kicking motion in a goal its disallowed or if its swept in with your hand intentionally it wont count
21:44 You can knock the puck down to yourself out of the air. You are not allowed to hit it towards another player unless it happens in your defensive zone.
3:12 These goals are called Michigan's (made famous by a player for the Michigan Wolverines) and are mostly performed by the young players that come up to the NHL. It's not something you will see too often, but it's not a rarity.
Gotta react to nhl together we stand. One of the best hockey videos out there. When the owners of the teams wanted more of the money being made by the teams. Or watch the beauty of hockey 👍
That "magnetic puck" to the stick goal is rare, and very hard to do. For how old hockey is I think that move might have only been done for the first time maybe 10 year ago or so atleast in the NHL, and now you might see it a couple times a year at most. And that Crosby 1 handed backhand roof goal is crazier than it looks, regular people can't even lift the puck off the ice when shooting normally.
Really glad that you heard the comments out and picked a better video. I will say tho ap highlights videos aren’t great this video wasn’t bad but there’s still better goals
It was very popular in Floorball and thats where it came from originally. Altho I get why americans call it lacross goal. Floorball is more popular in Europe and so European hockey players who also watched or played floorball also started using it
The McDavid goal (where he waited at the blue line and went through four players) is one of the most astonishing goals I've ever seen. As for the lacrosse-style goals, the first guy to do it in a big game was at the University of Michigan in the '90s. It used to be very uncommon but it's become more common. It's still considered pretty skillful to do it in an NHL game.
nah, if someone crosses you up real bad, and breaks your ankles. thats just viewed as immense skill. its viewed with respect and admiration, thats not gonna start a fight.
your question at 10:12 .... generally the answer is no, unless its late in the game and a player on a team that is comfortably winning does something flashy and unnecessary to embarass their opponent. then you might see a fight. i guess its kind of the same in other sports. like imagine in football if a team is winning comfortably late in the game and they run some kind of deep pass trick play, that would be considered poor sportsmanship and would anger their opponent.
You can pretty much fight anytime you want in the NHL. If a guy embarrasses you and scores you let him have his little celebration and ask him to toss down later.
0:58 Duuuude LOL, the "instant replay" was invented in Canada by Canadians specifically for HOCKEY... (But the first instant replay slow motion highlights were first used in on a broadcast of a boxing match.)
Hockey doesn’t have “own goals.” The goal gets recorded as the last player from the scoring team that touched the puck. A player can touch the puck with their glove, but if they try to advance the puck with their glove, it’s a penalty. Datsyuk probably has the highest number of incredible looking goals, but Ovechkin has easily the singular best one. ruclips.net/video/E82oUXP6Hng/видео.htmlsi=X1TtcVV1UmzREeYD
You need to look up Joe Pavelski 4 goal game and react. Context is. He got hit and got a concussion and was out for 1 week during the playoffs. His first game back her scored four goals. When he was 38. One of the oldest in the league.
10:00 Yes, but only if the guy you're trying to fight agrees to it, it's one of the unwritten rules of the sport. Now, you don't exactly have to follow that rule and attack them anyway, but then you get called a coward.
If someone crosses you up and makes you look like a fool by breaking your ankles you wouldn't fight for that because that's hockey, just being out played. You'd only really throw down with someone if they hit you/teammate unprovoked or in a dangerous way. There's obviously exceptions for example guys trying to piss you off so you'll drop your gloves to thrown down and get a penalty.
Consider watching some RUclips videos on the history of some of the teams you would consider becoming a fan of. This will give you a great idea of their key struggles and successes.
"It's like the puck was magnetic!" Nah, it's just physics, centrifugal force! That McDavid goal is 100% fault of the defenders. They played the puck instead of the man. "If somebody shakes you so bad, can you fight them for it?" Nah. Usually fights happen after big hits. Wether the hit was legal or not, it just send the message to not hit the star player too hard. It either happen right as the hit happens, or 1-2 shifts later. Sometimes it happens much later, after some escalations.
Consider picking a team to root for. I'm in Edmonton, Alberta and I cheer for the Edmonton Oilers (the team where Gretzky started his career). Maybe see what team is closest to where you live to consider and if you don't like any of them, maybe consider becoming an Oilers fan 😀
Fun game but the atmosphere is terrible. I left MSG at the first interval, NYR vs JYD, a supposed local rivalry, it was tragic to witness. When NYR scored, the crowd remained mostly silent... until they played their song 😂 They made more noise for the tshirt toss then anything during play but made noise on demand when a sign told them to.... and everything begun with the national anthem 😂 There were a few fights on the rink but it was kinda orchestrated. I'll stick to watching highlights on TV
That second goal (as all as others in this video) is called the Michigan, first performed in college. College Hockey is not like football or basketball. Most of NHL players never went to college. Plus only the colleges in the north have teams. So a college highlight doesn't normally go viral. But they were showing that all over ESPN for a while. Here's the clip of the first time it was done ruclips.net/video/7TPk4RGqwVo/видео.html
10:08 definitely not directly after the goal is scored. Fights only really break out DURING play, and sometimes immediately after the play if a hit is seen is unnecessary or overly dirty. Fighting after player after they score is extremely cowardly because someone who just scored has their guard lowered, celebrating their point
The puck flipped from behind the goal, off the back of the goalkeeper is not technically an own goal, but as the announced said... it's a very dirty goal. In football it's an own goal it the player "puts" the ball into the net versus being used. Example: on a corner, if the defender has his back to the kick and it deflects off his back and in, although he looks like an absolute dullard, he didn't put it in himself. On the other hand, a sweeper decides to be a showboat and clear a danger ball all the way onto the concourse but instead puts the ball into his own net, that is an own goal and probably someone that should hope he doesn't have to go to Columbia any time soon
That goal @5:20 by Crosby is insane, and you barely reacted, so just thought I'd point this out. He's on his backhand, which is already typically a weaker shot, and he takes one hand off the stick. Elevating a puck with a one-handed backhand shot is absolutely nuts.
