5:28 this Crosby goal is so understated in the video itself. He literally backhand one-handed while protecting the puck. Un-fucking-real

  • @danmoore1678
    @danmoore1678 15 дней назад +7

That goal @5:20 by Crosby is insane, and you barely reacted, so just thought I'd point this out. He's on his backhand, which is already typically a weaker shot, and he takes one hand off the stick. Elevating a puck with a one-handed backhand shot is absolutely nuts.

If you're looking for just pure goal scoring you have to check out Alex Ovechkin highlights as well. He currently has 861 career goals and is well on pace to break the all-time NHL goals record of 894 which is currently held by the great Wayne Gretzky. This record was for a long long time thought to be unbeatable, yet he is likely about to do it this season. Only one of his goals was featured in this video but he has some absolutely unbelieveable goals throughout his career.

whoever touches the puck last on the scoring team if it bounces of an opposing team player its the player or if it bounces of a teammate in and in the goal its the player who it bounced off who gets the goal. and if a player hits a star player and its dirty there will infact be a fight.. its a point in hockey that you stand up for your teammates, everyone blocks shots. the puck can touch anywhere on the body but if there is a kicking motion in a goal its disallowed or if its swept in with your hand intentionally it wont count

That "magnetic puck" to the stick goal is rare, and very hard to do. For how old hockey is I think that move might have only been done for the first time maybe 10 year ago or so atleast in the NHL, and now you might see it a couple times a year at most. And that Crosby 1 handed backhand roof goal is crazier than it looks, regular people can't even lift the puck off the ice when shooting normally.

your question at 10:12 .... generally the answer is no, unless its late in the game and a player on a team that is comfortably winning does something flashy and unnecessary to embarass their opponent. then you might see a fight. i guess its kind of the same in other sports. like imagine in football if a team is winning comfortably late in the game and they run some kind of deep pass trick play, that would be considered poor sportsmanship and would anger their opponent.

As for the lacrosse-style goals, the first guy to do it in a big game was at the University of Michigan in the '90s. It used to be very uncommon but it's become more common. It's still considered pretty skillful to do it in an NHL game.

Here's some hockey language to help:
"Dangle" n/v: General term for fakes 'as if the puck was dangling on a string' "What a dangle/X is dangling/dangled/got dangled" Syn. "Deke" n/v @1:15 (and most of the video)
"Lazer" n: A really hard shot. Syn. Blast, Bullet, "Rips" v. @4:31 @8:13 (and lots of these goals)(opp. "Muffin" n: a really nonthreatening, easily saved shot. There's going to be a quiet dressing room after @16:25 @23:47)
"One-Timer": A shot off the pass itself @4:52 @10:32(the "Ovechkin Spot": top of the left circle. One of the GOATs of hockey, he's also so good at one-timers from that spot it got named after him)
"One hander": Goals with one hand on the stick, the most extreme examples being shots @5:30 @11:39
"Bar down" n/adj: A perfectly placed goal that hits the lower crossbar and in - ping! "He went bar down" @17:00
"Spin-O-Rama" n/adj: Old school dangle where you use speed, spin around the Dman to get closer to the net, and score @2:25 @5:51 (@7:59 is a dangle with a spin) "X with the spin o rama!"
"Coast-to-coast" n: one player going from their side of the ice to to the other side and scoring. "X just went coast-to-coast! Syn "end-to-end" @7:39 @18:07
"Lacrosse goal" n: picking the puck up on the blade of the stick and using inertia to tuck it in from behind the net (goals with the entire stick above the crossbar don't count)
"Chip" v/n: To shoot a floater from behind the net like golf, that goes over the net, off the back of the goalie, and in @8:26
"The goalies' jockstrap" idioms: Jokes about deking out a goalie 1v1 so badly they look foolish - bonus points if you got the goalie to spread their legs. Some variant of "deked out of your jockstrap", "you'll find the goalies jockstrap hanging from the ceiling" @9:19 @10:19 @11:50 @14:43 @17:27 (and most of these goals lol)
"Connor McHockey": Connor McDavid. The current era's GOAT

If someone crosses you up and makes you look like a fool by breaking your ankles you wouldn't fight for that because that's hockey, just being out played. You'd only really throw down with someone if they hit you/teammate unprovoked or in a dangerous way. There's obviously exceptions for example guys trying to piss you off so you'll drop your gloves to thrown down and get a penalty.

You get in to a fight to protect your teammates or your self. But you can get in to a fight if someone says something to you you can fight them.

Best part about the lacrosse style goals from bedard and zegras they were on the same night n neither knew the other did it . zegras was asked to do one before the game pretty dope.
And what u asked about the fight, u can ask someone to go u for anything . Some guys won't even ask. But most fighters respect the code so if they did some dumb shit they know a fight is coming. Some times a guy wants to fight just for his ego and u can choose what u wanna do fight or don't all depends what's goin on in the game too

Consider watching some RUclips videos on the history of some of the teams you would consider becoming a fan of. This will give you a great idea of their key struggles and successes.
