Finally we're getting back to the basics, which is everyone is built differently as far as the physical aspects. Years ago you could go to a practice range and see the unique ways pros would swing the clubs, but get similar results. Clubs were the same except for tweaks on length, loft/lie, but the way the pros delivered the face to the ball from start to finish did not look like a robot factory. The swing methods that began to say it had to be THIS way no matter the golfer produced a ton of injuries and stress to the body. No one putts the same, and you get killer results regardless of style and putting instrument setup. The overall swing through the bag should be no different. Basic concepts apply, but it's a game of FEEL. Golf is not a perfect game, and every day is an adventure on the results, which makes it a blast to play, if you have the temperament to accept that sometimes it's just not going to go your way.

The differences , in my opinion, relate to Dr David Wright's work on identifying upper , middle , and low core players. Nicklaus was upper core, and Trevino low core... their whole setup and sequencing and motor patterns are different!
Can someone elaborate on 5:30 what he meant by dismissing the idea of “hitting down to make the ball go up.” Called the idea silly. Is he referring to driver? Iron? I thought you’re supposed to hit down on the ball when using irons, hence the low point divot in front of the ball. Help! Ty
As an amateur, I guess irons are designed to hit down (the reason is the ball is on the ground and hitting up is then difficult) but the further down you hit does not make it go higher. So if presented loft is equal, two degrees negative angle of attack will produce higher flight than five degrees negative.
Both. Just because you're supposed to hit down on the ball with an iron, doesn't mean that that's what's lifting the ball up. Irons have more loft and are made to have good interaction with the turf. Try hitting down on the ball with a putter from the fairway. The ball isn't gonna go flying high in the sky

Nice interview. I watched a bunch of his Trackman Maestro vids years ago and he was a pioneer in educating many of us out here.
