    Great video! but for a smoker severely rusted I would apply 3 or 4 Coats of oil

    Great Work ! I have been doing same thing well 10 years Now . I often coat inside firebox also To stop any Inside rust troubles When sitting outside and In the Weather . When I put the oil outside I wear Old gloves and get Firebox Hot then Put oil on and Rub it in . The finish will blacken and Become weather Proof till It burns off , The Just repeat .. Great Video ..

      Thanks! I’ll have to try spreading the oil inside the pit, do you do it in the firebox as well?

      That's some good advise and thank you for looking out for me! I've always wondered what the long term effects of smoking meat are with all the smoke being generated. Hope all is well!

    This method also work for kettle grills. Scrub your grill. Use easy off grill cleaner. Then run it down with cooking oil. Finally cover your grill. Your grill will then last for years to come.
