Born in Denmark, live in Australia, love to retire in Thailand
Super top. Good idea.
When President Obama came to Thailand officially and had only one day to tour a temple, the American Embassy recommended Wat Pho due to a few reasons. It has stunningly beautiful reclining Buddha. It is the temple that King Rama III decreed all Thai knowledge inscribed on stone here including Thai traditional medicine and massage, and thus born the famous Thai massage till today. King Rama III was known as Merchant Prince when he was yet to ascend the throne and requested Chinese junk merchants to bring junk stabilizers in the form of Chinese stone deities/mystical beasts to decorate in Wat Pho and Wat Arun. You might not know that your 200 baht entry fee contributes greatly to Wat Pho's restoration/renovation over the years. I visited Wat Pho as a kid 60 years ago and it was in a dilapidated condition, not even 1/10 as beautiful as today.
amazing comment. my hope with this channel is that each video STARTS a conversation that others add to. so your useful information added onto this topic is EXACTLY what i'm hoping we get more of here. cheers!

Hi. Khun Kris and everyone.
You should try visiting Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen. There's the biggest Buddha in Bangkok.
We are new AMWF content creator.
I'm from Bangkok and my gf's from Scotland.
It is good to see an AMWF content creator on RUclips.
Have a nice day/evening everyone!
🇹🇭🇬🇧
@@amwfpaulandjay Is it 200 baht now? I think i paid like 50 baht but that was many years ago
When Obama was in Thailand, I couldn’t land at dmk from urt in 2012 because he was in the area
Not only for tourists, but these clips are useful for local Thais (like me) too. 😍😄
This was the first Thai temple I visited close to a quarter century back. Nice to see that it hasn't changed much.
Yet another banger! Wat's This. That was a 100% legit message from Mark... Personally I enjoy Arun to Pho, but both are amazing. However neither come close to the grand palace, which is my favorite in BKK and probably the best deal in the city given everything that is included in entry.
FYI
If you visit #12, you can also go to Wang lung, Ta pra Athit and Khao san road too. Since there're not far from each other.
There's a musuem you could visit closed to wat arun, called 'Museum Siam' . I like to visit there personally. Well, good place to avoid the heat since there's AC.
And Lastly, Recently many tourist love to rent Thai traditional attire and wear it to go around this area. Take photos. You can find colth rental shop nearby. I saw many youtuber doing a review about it.
Hope you all have a good time here in Thailand 😊
And thank you, Chris for helping promote places.

Loving these daily videos! Definitely a highlight of our day watching along
Love me a good temple. I remember climbing those stairs back in the '90's. Amazing how they keep it all looking so beautiful.
OMG.. stunning. Gonna visit
Loving this series and your sense of humour is brilliant
I just want to say that the editing of your videos is really excellent. The music, the cuts, the inserts, everything is so polished! That and of course your laid back way to breeze through it all makes your videos stand out. Keep up the great work!
I've been to at least 25 temples in Bangkok. They are nice escapes from the noise and stress of the city.
Easy video!
Nice tranquil place.
Amazing place for peace and art!
The story around the temple is amazing!
Definitely both sides of river too!
Thanks team!
🌶️🌶️🇹🇭🇭🇲🇹🇭🌶️🌶️ Big B
Wat a great job Chris. This tour was amazing. Great production as usual.
👋🏼Hey Chris! Episode 12👍🏼👍🏼 love all the videos keep them coming! We’ve been to Wat Arun! It was so beautiful! 🍻cheers🍻♥️🇨🇦
I had the privilege to spend time at Wat Pho when I traveled to Thailand for a conference several years ago. Beautiful place to visit. I am temple'd/Wat'd out in a sense (seen way too many of them over the years), but I still appreciate the beauty of the craftsmanship. Another great video.
You are getting better every day.
In fact, the pagoda at Golden mountain Temple ( Wat Phu Khao Thong ) is the same pagoda as Wat Arun or Arun Temple. But is much larger in size but because of its very large weight And built near the canal causing the timber foundation and sticky soil to not support the weight, causing a collapse in the middle Later, it was abandoned for a while. before changing to the current one
Thanks for the time Chris as always!
Two of my fav temples as well. I visited the sleeping Buddha last March and was one of only 3 people in the place so it was a fabulous time to visit.
Wats up Chris. hahahaha Wat Arun ist an amazing place, I have a epic morning sunrise at Wat Arun on camera if you want to check it out. Great video Chris looking forward to seeing what Mark says about your list. See ya mate!
let's see what he has to say!
amazing place last time I was their back in 2008. what a fab city love Bangkok and Thailand
Great stuff 😊
Love this clip. ❤
Both stunning places!
Love this series!!❤ every day I’ll look forward to watching the next episode. You are a bit of a comedian as well. Can’t wait to see when Mark shows up. Lol. All the best to you from San Diego, California.
I've been trying to meet my girl in the philippines since covid started. Last month she suggested we meet in Thailand. I know nothing of Thailand so I am now binge watching this series. I'll be on Khaosan next week. In Alaska right now.
You are working very hard. Thank you. I like all videos. Cheers !
🤣🤣 Love that we all finally got the response from Mark 🤣🤣 also the hiccup of wrong number... 13 or 12. Hey we are all human right ❤️
Hi Chris I am from India Watching your videos of 25 things to do in Bangkok and looking forward for next Video of Grand Palace.
Very cool videos! You’ve inspired me to return to Thailand (Bangkok in particular) after a very long time! Cheers
Peter (Australia 🇦🇺)
Of the temples, this is the 1 i want to go to-ty for showing
Have a nice trip! Enjoy eating and enjoy going in Thailand
So beautiful🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Video call with Mark Weins was hilarious 🤣👌🏼
Awesome video!
Somehow, we 're expecting Chris to walk past us with his camera as we peruse the streets of Bangkok. BTW Retired Working for you is Super Fantastic! The stories kept us motivated to see and explore; relentlesdly.
สุดยอดไปเลยค่ะ
Loved watching the sunrise from the top of Wat Arun over a decade ago. Sorry to see you can’t go up anymore.
Me too!
That app is amazing good job !!!!
After your last video I put a comment about being upset that you were bumping Wat Arun from the list....I am eating my words Chris, I think you were right to combine it with Wat Pho as they are both stunning and so close to each other they are a great combination...words well and truly eaten man!!
Oh, maybe so, the temple has interesting architecture
I absolutely love these small reports and you having the temples almost for yourself amazing, the last time i was there is just before Covid, it was jammed packed by chinese tourists in throngs ,,😂
Doing great Chris. Wat Arun is on my Bangkok list- went there a couple of years back, but only had 15 minutes to explore😢.
Hi Chris, I should've gone walking around the area today
Might've gotten the chance to meet you!
I live nearby and my family is a big fan of you.
Love your videos krap, enjoy your trip!
Every time I come to Thailand I start my trip with a one hour foot and a one hour Thai massage at Wat Pho. That massage is one sleep closer to happening. 🇨🇦✈️🇹🇭
Thanks chris 2 places for us to vissit on our trip
Great video. I met you at temple of dawn. 👍🏻😆
Glad I was able to climb the stairs all the way up Wat Arun when I was there in 2014. Too bad you can't anymore. They were quite steep from what I recall. Perhaps someone slipped and now they err on the side of caution.
A few years ago I was up in Wat Arun, hot hot day that time .. same weather as you have today..
Was a nice nice view up there in the height, got a lot of nice pictures. Was a large piece of orange cloth material around the entire temple. what many had signed their name, including me :) was in 2012. I don't think it is anymore after a long period of maintenance on the temple up in the height.
Hello just joined your App Teenee for 12 mths can’t wait to explore in April for 3 weeks
amazing, thanks and enjoy!
Hey man, i love your style😂
Fun facts a hundred years ago Giants in Wat Arun (Wat Jang local name)they have had issue with Giants in Wat Pho they don’t like each other always challenged to fighting all the time.
Must visit place in Thailand
"Wats this?" LOL Great intro.
very good places to visit, you can also do a boat tour for one or 2 hours from wat po and then cross the river to see the rest. Taxi's double feeling about the no meter crap... once you give in there is no way back.. and they will abuse you in times when it is busy.
Hi Chris, nice to have you back in Thailand again. As far as I have seen your clips. It can be seen that the details of the story in the content are shown very well. It is beneficial to fellow tourists who want to visit Thailand. And it also helps publicize understanding in various aspects to the public as well... I wish you success in your work. And be safe, happy and have fun during your lifetime visiting Thailand and forever..
.. thank you..
.. ขอบคุณครับ.. 🙏.. 🤗🤪
Cool, thanks
Wattpo is a beautiful place to visit but watt-a-rune is an amazing place 😍
It really is!
I climbed up those steep stairs in 2012. Not totally shocked they closed it!
Arun, wow!!!!
ดีจ้า
เป็นคนที่จิตใจน่ารัก 👍👍👍

See you tomorrow at Wat Arun.
Came in 12th place✌️🇹🇭😇
Sidenote on pronunciation of Thai transcription, especially official place names using the Royal Thai General System of Transcription (RTGS); the "h" after a vowel only signifies aspiration.
A good example would be using the Korean alphabet to demonstrate. For example, P and Ph; Po would be 뽀 or 뻐, and Pho would be 포 or 퍼
I'm really into this series "25 things to do in Bangkok before you die"
Wat's aaaaaaup!!!!!! Chris 👍👍👍
yessssssssss
How u doing?.omg! cool view-
hi man i became ur fan.hope we meet in some places.
Yeah for sure
please do a video about of hinghest buliding in Bangkok.❤❤
I was lucky enough to be able to climb those stairs at wat Arune , I can’t recall if it was only once or twice but the last time or two it was closed off.😢
I was able to climb up the stairs at Wat Arun in 2018. It was pretty scary so I guess it must have gotten closed as someone fell.
Hi Chris. Please add Thai subtitles too.🥰❤️👍👍👍
Hey Chris Don't forget Elephants pants.Have amazing day.
How to solo filming like you...?
This is so professional.
Chris, you've helped another Chris and his family figure out what we're doing on Monday. Thank you, sir ,for another awesome video.

Great video's Chris, but some origninality would be greatly appreciated, you need to be a LEADER rather then Follower.
Example your own list of top 25 things to see and do in BKK or even Top 25 things to do in Pattaya, or Thailand.
Great non the less. Cheers
Love these temples. We didn’t get time to spend in Wat Pho much last time so we are going this time. Since our son is 10 now, he is requesting for us to see the grand palace again too, he’s keen on the emerald Buddha and the last time we went that part was closed, lol hope it’s open this time! Doing Wat Arun too since he was so young before, he doesn’t remember much of it. He does remember the giant reclining Buddha somewhat. He has to share this all with his class so we will probably do a video specially for his class. If I may ask, what application do you use to edit videos with? Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures with us.
Oh also back in 2013 when we did Wat Arun, we were able to climb the stairs. It was scary 😂 sad we can’t take our son up now, he was only a baby then so he stayed at the bottom with grandpa.
🙏
was there in 1970.
I like Mark Wiens face while talking. 😂
glad you liked that!!
กดติดตามแล้วนะคริส555
Recommend you to go to Wat Traimit. Because there is the world's largest golden Buddha statue there.
Good idea combining Wat Pho and Wat Arun into one video! In my opinion, if this is your first time to Bangkok, skip the Grand Palace. The temple at Grand Palace has some historical significance but it’s overpriced and crowded. Wat Pho is a must for a first time visitor. The boat trip to Wat Arun is cool too. If you feel like you’ve seen too many temples, you can just walk in the garden around the temple for free.
I would never recommend skipping the grand palace. It isn’t expensive.. and the ticket also includes Wat pho plus they give a bottled water with it. It’s less than $15 USD. To get into both. There is also a museum at the Grand Palace area also included. My husband is Thai so he gets in free but we don’t mind paying for me and our son. Well worth it and it’s a Must do on your first time to Bangkok. Bad advice to skip it.
If you are in Bangkok only for a few days and you want to make the most of the experience, don't do the taxi. Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and then the Ferry for a beautiful and cheap tour of the Cha Pharaya river. It will add half an hour to the trip from Sukhumvit but totally worth it. Start early at what I guess is number 11, the Royal Palace. Have lunch and then go to the reclining Buddha temple and then cross the river to Wat Arun. You will deserve the massage in the afternoon.
amazing comment. my hope with this channel is that each video STARTS a conversation that others add to. so your useful information added onto this topic is EXACTLY what i'm hoping we get more of here. cheers!
Dropping coins into the monk's bowls is fun for children, but for grown up people is kinda light meditation. You calm yourself and focus while dropping coin one by one and trying to realize every step of it from beginning to end such as pick up a coin, releasing a coin, hearing sound of coin impacts to the bowl. It's good for you brain and mind.
Hello 🤗
Hello 😊
admission money It is money for the maintenance and repair of these damaged parts……As for putting coins into the house, it is for the practice of mindfulness and concentration. You just need to count them. You will be conscious of the present, making you not distracted.
Actually Thai Massage originated in India. It was brought to Thailand by an Ayurvedic doctor that traveled there with the Buddha.
This guy does ok for a Canadian. When you think he's probably more used to trees, bears and ice hockey! 😂
Enjoying every single one of these mate. Very educational too! Loved the ride to the ferry with the “subscriber” hang up n there. Cheers 🇳🇿
Glad you enjoyed it
แต่ละวัดในประเทศไทย จะมีความเป็นมาแตกต่างกัน
first time I was at Wat Pho at the reclining Buddha I understood I had to take off may shoes, BUT: i thought you were supposed to wear the sandals laying around. At some point I noticed, that all the other peeps wore no shoes and I...I was wearing some random dudes wet sandals
👍😎
