Fred is ridiculously underrated. With his discography he should be talked about as a living legend today.
definitely.
💯💯💯💯💯🔥
he is a living legend. real rec real
1.6 million views in 9 years... This song is the definition of criminally underrated
Makes that 10 years now
Fan since mixtapes days he's always the first i mention when i meet new rap heads
Glad i found this
Still got over a mil though on a mixtape song 🤷♂️
T00-True!
@@JohnSmith-cm4zy - I Agree!
This was first time I heard Gibbs been a fan since.
same here
Me too bro
I think it was either this or boxed frame Cadillac. Lots of burn cruising to these old gibbs songs
Word
The first time I heard Gibbs was a joint he made with David Dallas from NZ
GIbbs has it all. Flow, Lyricism, and storytelling. IMO best rapper alive.
Your right he my best now..he got some KILLA beats too..
you aint never lied
Hands down
Yup
@deadheart yeah I’d have to agree tbh
“Putting thugs in ditches when my trigger finger itches” Gibbs is the last of a dying breed. R.I.P to Big L 🐐
coming back to this banger 12 years later,... crazy what he managed to accomplish
Gibbs is a hell of a rapper: lyrics, hooks, timing, delivery, enunciation, volume... He has no weaknesses. Dont sleep on freddie gibbs he's gonna be blowin up real soon
REAL soon
Vultures
Gibbs’s early catalog had him absolutely murdering classic beats and owning them.
9 years and this video is only at 1.9mill Freddie is the Greatest Underrated Rapper.
Muyanzi Reid ...I think he came up in the wrong era, with all this mumble rap & trap....
It’s 2020 now, Griselda has blown open the doors from the Underground sound, hopefully with their popularity, it will bring light to people like Gibbs too, more than he gets now
Dope, his flow is off the chain!
Seen him twice, and both times he KILLED IT. Dude knows how to put on a good show, something alot of hip hop artists could learn from...
This guy is on a whole different level, raw talent.
i'm really really really feelin this!!!! this is so reminiscent of 90's hip-hop!!!!
Big up Gary IN and Gangsta Gibbs! Freddie is one of the best story tellers in the game IMO, dudes been a beast since jump St.
Hip Hop is not dead. It's people like freddie thats keepin it alive and well. You just need to look in the right places!
Straight-up one of the illest tracks of the last 10 years.
I'm not from the ghetto (i could not be further away from it in fact), but the picture (the track, the video doesn't do it justice) that Gibbs paints is so vivid. This is simply ART.
Whatever other song i will get to know in the future, no doubt that this will be one of the songs i will play for my grandkids in 30 years or so... Classic!
Swa Zotheek yessir me to as long as I make to to have grandkids pray to god🙏🏼
I don't remember how I found that song but I'm pretty sure I was around 13/14. Since then I listen to Freddie Gibbs, such a good flow, he spits like a beast. It's unfair how this song has so few views
First heard him in GTAV and then search for his music after
I miss this Freddie. Not that Freddie isn't good anymore cause he really is one of the best in the game right now. But his voice was so much smoother. All them backwoods did a number on his vocals.
he put out one trap beat style album^
Freddie is still the realest
tbh i think his voice sounds better if anything
Luv old Gibbs he been 🔥
It's amazing how much Gibbs has evolved from Str8 Killa No Filla to his newest Alfredo album. And he never fails to keep it real :)
I wake-up to this stuck in my head every morning. Much love to Gibbs man
1st song i ever heard of Gangsta Gibbs !!! Classic!!!
Same
The song that made me a Gibbs fan....saw it on WSHH....been rockin wit him ever since
big ups to Freddie for being one of the very few MC's that actually cares about "his" community. Much respect.
Older hip hop lover. This was my first exposure to Gibbs. Been down since.
the ghetto ain't just a place, it's a mentality that most of us carry with us constantly causing casualties
Classic bars.
This line has hit me through the years.
2021 and still bumping! One of the best in the game!
Remember watching this in high school durin class I switch tabs I was post to be readin 😂 Gangsta Gibbs the truth
me rn lmao
This is the first Freddie Gibbs song that I heard I saw this on MTV Jamz I been listening ever since. this nigga too cold he got a delivery I never heard before
Takes me back to the xxl freshman list that had him, wiz khalifa, jay rock, nipsey hussle, etc. Honestly after 2011 freshman list it was a turning point with iggy, future, french montana, etc. This music is real.
Contrary to most of these "gangsta" rappers, Freddie Gibbs often has an introspective element to his music which makes it all the more interesting. He's able to paint a really vivid picture. I drew some inspiration from Freddie and created a track over the same beat called 'The Gutter' - a deep, hard hitting socio-political joint. Much appreciation from Cape Town, South Africa.
love the old school beat, this man is spittin fire. I remember Big L did a freestyle on this beat.
2020 still bumpin🔥
Been jamming this for a decade now. Never gets old.
Kendrick is legit. But Fred is the GOD MC.
Great song, looks like my hometown EAST OAKLAND!
Piano sample is - The Marian McPartland Trio "Melanholy mood"
I think the whole beat is just ripped from Miilkbone's "Keep it Real".
Daniilslav Andrushevych You’ve missed the point.
Yes, Freddie is rapping over Miilkbone’s Keep It Real beat. But the beat itself is taken from Melancholy Mood by The Marian McPartland Trio.
Rich homie Quan also sampled the piano
That’s some good info thank you sir
Gibbs should go back to this style for a future album!
He was hella young. He had hunger in his rhymes back in them days. He's getting older & maturing.
this was the first track I heard from Gibbs after I seen him on XXL & I been hooked ever since.. this should have 20x the views it has
Jan 2 and we rocking Freddie Gibbs my boy. Best rapper alive.
His best song in my opinion, out of all of his bodies of work. I'm blown that at this point (May 9th, 2019), literally 9 years later, that this video only has 1.5 million views. That's more criminal than Gibbs himelf
Best track ever made on this godly instrumental.
Fell in love soon as I heard the Big L freestyle/Milkbone beat 💯
This joint is classic!!
R.I.P BIG L
Christmas Eve 2020 Freddie still on point
Big L woulda been proud
This isn't Big L's beat....
AccessDenied55 he never said that lol. Big L is one of the original gangster rappers, and freddie gibbs is a gangster rapper, therefore big L would be proud. Use your head man.
his flow sounds more inspired by nas, not to mention the 90's horn stab beat
AccessDenied55
in a street brawl i'm frightenin, i strike kids like lightnin, you seen what happened in my last fight then? alright then
HeaddressScreen this is a bigl beat...
stilll listning 2021 miss the old gibbs
Much respect! One of the only dudes that's bringing that good rap music!
Thank you bro
Aye he in my hoods 219 & 773 stand up!
Happy Birthday Freddie Gibbs!
His flow is impeccable. He took Big L's "Flamboyant" and murdered the beat better than Big L himself. In my opinion, Gibbs is one of the most talented rappers of his time who represents what rap was and should be.
Not flamboyant beat this beat was from the freestyle big l hit with jay z
Give me Section 8.0 vibes. I love the young years. It’s always soulful. ✨🍃💫
This shit is crazy
wow i was 7 when this was uploaded... scary how underrated this song is
GANGSTA GIBB'S THE TRUTH .
freddie gibbs last of a dying breed - keep the music coming bro
this is original rap hip-hop classic 🔥💣🎤🎙🎧
One of the most talented rappers in the game and the most underrated.
Damn he did his thang! Everytime I slap this it's bringin back memories.

2021
Classic record in 2019 still bangin hard af 🔥🔥🔥🙌💪🎼🎶🎵💯
Is there a more soulful rapper in the game today? People change personas but not this guy ,gangsta life all the way
Meh, I feel like his recent music is nowhere as good as what he used to make.
@@outlawzqc Alfredo is one of the top in his catalog
@@outlawzqc he dropped Fetti, Bandana, Alfredo & $$$ back to back 😅
By far one of his best. I miss these kind of tracks from Gibbs.
this shit hella smooth
The original song is Keep It Real by Milkbone.....
@@SmokeOne89 Gibbs did it better
i first heard Freddie Gibbs on David Dallas track called "caught in a daze"... look it up that song is dope no lie, David Dallas is bringin back hiphop, word up!
Still here in 2020 and big L would still be proud 🔥🔥🔥‼️
This song is so good, for so many reasons.
P4P the best flow in hip-hop.
Finessed Analyzer agreed
I love Freddie Gibbs... I can't help but to nod to that piano...

Ever since I saw this video on mtv years ago I got hooked on Freddie since then
This video was on MTV?!?!?!?! Hard to believe.
@@wolfharthiphop mtv jams my man 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I will listen this even in 2029
This heard is the first song i heard of his!
And this way better than any of his other tunes.
I wish this was on spotify
Thank you thought I was only one who couldn't find it
@@donalosullivan9102unfortunately you’ll never see it on there. He doesn’t own the beat so it would get copyrighted.
Reppin the GI..we got much love for ya gangsta gibbs
Jazzy Bazz 64 mesures de Spleen ❤️
almost brings a tear to the eye...
THE BEST RAPPER
i think this is his best song. very good message.
I still think Big L did it the best off this milkbone instrumental.
Big L's freestyle was dope asf but I think you can't compare the two. Freddie Gibbs is rapping about his broken hometown and Big L and Jay Z were rapping about how ill they are.
Am I the only one here who thinks miilkbone's version is the best?
crissJWZ all personal preference bruh
fitzsy True true
Risky Mecca A french rapper did it the best. Jazzy Bazz is his name
one of my favorite songs of all time
Beat from Miilkbone keep it real :D it's good too
Flipped that MilkBone Joint hard ... One Love to real Hip Hop
I think Freddie Gibbs is the new 2pac
.. I truly fuck with Freddie Gibbs.
But please try to prevent yourself from comparing certain artists to Tupac.
Tupac was beyond music.
..
Tupac is the only Leshane Parish Crooks.
Freddie Gibbs is the only Fredrick Tipto.
2pac fucked 2 much with my emotions.....u say that and is like we need more 2pac no one is gonna be like him, impossible but we need people like that clever and clear , just for real
Have you heard his latest shit? It's garbage sadly.. But older tracks like this are awesome.
oBakanax3 What the fuck you talking about? He released a new album with Madlib last week, it's easily a top 3 album this year.
PINATA
Fred owned this beat. It gets no better.
Freddie Gibbs ain't the "new 2Pac" at all. This isn't Freddie Gibbs beat, so you younglings quit act a fool. Whenever someone talks about the ghetto, y'all be flossin' and tossin' the bitch. This probably the closest beat you guys heard that the illest. Big L put spit flames when he freestyled to this beat. Keep It Real, Miilkbone.
Everybody has heard Big L`s track you fucking hipster
stop actin like you the only one who knows hip hop... grow your mind and respect more artists
he's no new in the first place i was listening to freddie gibbs when he only a good few hundred views yous only all started listening to him as soon as gta v came out
john rock Word. this has been out..
gibbs roasts L and doesnt use the same flow on every song.
Plus, not getting shot and killed should be judged as a vital part of a rapper's skill set.
As a young white boy growing up I remember finding this song and loving it. I didn't realize until now why it resonated with me until now. I didn't grow up in the ghetto and I'm not black. But, I did have a troubling childhood. I hung out with gangsters, I lost my grandma when I was 15. I tried rhyming about peace to my peers. I realized just how painful it was to deal with reality.
