It’s funny every time I watch people who aren’t big hip hop fans listen to hip hop, they can never focus on the beat and the lyrics at the same time lol
Its hard!! It takes practice lol
Nobody focuses on the lyrics and the beat at the same time. That’s not what it means to focus.
@@anonymouslakernerd7214are you serious? That’s literally what hiphop is lyrics and beats.
@@TheFreshOnezTV That wasn't my argument. I was saying you can't focus on two things at once. If you're splitting your focus, you're not focusing. By definition.
To be fair when I first head this song I was blasting it just enjoying the vibe. After playing it many times with my headphones then I picked up on the lyrics now I enjoy both . A person can listen to these type of jams millions of times. Slick rick adds that extra extra
It's like watching two aliens trying to figure out human behavior.
Lmao thinkimg about the Key and Peele sketch. "Or maybe it's another face."
I swear!
Exactly! Lol
😂😂😂👽🛸
These dude caught onto big boys unique flow
Best hip hop artists of all time. Hands down, every album every song. The love below album was a signal that the magic was over imo
Slick Rick is the pioneer to the storytelling rap. Some songs to definitely check out are Children's Story, LA Di Da Di, and The show
Awesome will do!
Slick Rick was the first rapper I ever heard as a kid at the age of 8 or 9 years old and the storytelling resonated with me as a child but the stories 😮 you'll hear it... The Children's story song 😮 La Di da Di was good
Slick Rick was my generation's 21 savage
My favorite Outkast song
Outkast ft UGK Player Anthem ♥️ 👌 🙌 ❤️ 🔥
Absolutely 🔥🔥🔥
Outkast = Big Boi (1st rapper) and Andre 3000 (second). Slick Rick was a masterful storytelling styled rapper from the 80s hence his feature on this titled song. Another Outkast song with a super catchy grooving hook with Big Boi delivering his rapid fire flow and Andre pleasantly on and off beat is "Ms. Jackson". While sounding fun and light the topic of the song has some real weight to it and a grown up look at relationships. Check it out!
Will do thanks!
shoutout to Sasha Thumper
🙏
This is from Outkast's 3rd album, their first was in '94. The catalog is so rich it's almost impossible to suggest just any old song or two. Yet, feeling I have to do so, I'd recommend B.O.B (Bombs Over Baghdad) as it was a decent-sized hit and musically--well I think you'd find plenty to talk about
Thanks! Stoked!
B.O.B. Is what I used to listen to every day on the way to work❤
As an Outkast stan, I concur. Good pick! B.o.B. still sounds fresh today and sonically unlike most other things then or now.
This is a lot to digest for their first listen...3000 is top tier, Andre compliments him perfectly....their mixes and beats were so fresh and clean. I miss them. I was lucky enough to be a teen in the 90s when these guys were coming up.
Slick Rick is a legend. Him not having an eye shouldn’t distract how dope he is. Check out children’s story, young world and teenage love by him
Man how do you not bob your head to this while listening to this... Lol
Appreciate you guys though
Roses
Hey ya
Elevators
All must listens
On it!
ATLiens
Slick Rick is the original storytelling rapper!
Fellas you really need to listen to "The Roots" the song is called.. "You got me" I know use two will love it and also the Roots are a real live band just to let you guys know.
Will do!
@@BehindTheBeatReactions Thanks alot appreciate you guys I'm 46 and I always been a hip hop head but The Roots are from Philadelphia and there drummer is called Quest Love do your research on The Roots i really hope you guys enjoy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
it would be a different story if they was listening to the un edited verison
slowly im seeing y'all start to get it! gotta do ms jackson next absolute classic by Outkast. I can also understand why trying to listen to the beat and lyrics at the same time can be hard but once you get used to it I guarantee a lot of songs you guys might not have liked will seem a lot better later on. one BIG thing you guys will eventually start to pick up is that lyrics and beat aren't just the main thing that make a song good but flow. the way the artist is rapping is VERY important. the reason why you guys said it's a chill song isn't just because of the beat but how all the rappers in the song have a smooth and laid back way of rhyming. Represent by Nas is a great example of this as the beat almost sounds like a nursery rhyme with the use of chimes but Nas' lyrics and flow are faster and more aggresive which changes the feel of the song completely
Thanks bro! Appreciate the love!
Slick Rick CHILDRENS STORY or MONA LISA
Back eyed peas- constant
Guru- dwyk
Digable planets - cool like that

They don't know who Slick Rick is?
If your really into the music, listen to B.O.B. by OutKast

I NEVER KNEW SLICK RICK HAD A VERSE WTF FUCC SPOTIFY
Also i didnt know thats what he looked like but the first two words he said i knew.
Whitest reaction
Now you gotta do the Art of Storytelling Part 2, which (IMO) is the better song.
lol, ya'll are clowns
If you don't know Slick Rick then just give up now...wtf? I've said it before and I will say it again "there's the white American internet, then there is the rest of us on earth" SHAME!SHAME!SHAME! ..We all know Billy Joel, Journey, The Beatles, Huey Lewis, Bob Dylan, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Eddie Van Halen, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Frank Zappa etc..etc..yet y'all have no idea who MC Ricky D. Is?...America isn't divided, some of us just suck.
Do you know Michael Romero? Paul gilbert? Joe pass? Wes Montgomery? Stanley jordan?
Theres alot to know
A weird place to have this sentiment is toward a channel where they are actively trying to learn more
thanks!@@craigmanning7873
