      He can totaly transform himself, cause his has an enormous control of his mind...

      Atkinson did study at Oxford. While there he performed at the Experimental Theatre Club, where future Monty Python members Michael Palin and Terry Jones had also performed.
      There are some very well educated comedian in the UK (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle and Stephen Fry studied in Cambridge, Hugh Laurie in Eton...)

    My parents are deaf, and back in the day there weren't subtitles for everything, so there was very little on TV that held their attention. Mr. Bean, however... I've never seen my dad cry-laugh as hard as watching Mr. Bean. You only need to be human to understand the comedy.
    Rowan Atkinson is carrying the torch that the likes of Chaplin and others before him lit and passed down, nice to see someone who can be funny without relying on language.

      When I was learning BSL, our teacher would put on Mr Bean sketches and have us describe to someone who had their back to the TV what we had just watched. It was great because there wasn't dialogue and explaining the absurdity of it all meant we had to try to find the write vocab to explain 😂

      @user-gz3ze4rh4e Месяц назад +11

      A very touching story about your son and his ability to enjoy watching Mr. Bean. The silent film legend, Charlie Chaplin, resisted switching over to sound since more than half of his audience was in foreign countries. Using pantomime, with his body, and facial expressions, you knew what was going on at all times. The first, and only, time the tramp did "speak," was in the tramp's final film, Modern Times, in 1936, and he was singing in gibberish! It's actually referred to as the Gibberish Song. Rowan Atkinson is sort of a modern day Chaplin. Give Rowan any small item as a prop, and he's OFF! Such a great and talented man he is.

      Many good and hardworking comedians out there. Sure you can understand that a certain background as a good and intelligent human is required to be so on point while not offensive and disrespectful. Most active and talented people I've seen could never utilize humor the way he and others did/do, no matter how hard they tried.
      This guy in particular is an obvious master of control on all levels. He knows what he's doing with every muscle and cell of his body. Others do too to an extent but they don't come close afaik, and it's probably because Rowan Atkinson posseses something else too on top of the gift he has. Something no amount of hard work will help one have it.
      Besides, usually, life events and certain qualities and encounters just have to click with one's personality and choices and dreams, etc.
