Lovely suit. The striped fabric and piped details worked so well together.

It looks great! Swimsuits intimidate me but I'd love to make one. Maybe someday I'll get up the nerve to try it.
I have a completely unrelated question / comment - I LOVE the shirt you are wearing! Did you make it too?

Thank you! I am wearing this 1950's dress that I made in this video: ruclips.net/video/ruCX9lX5YJo/видео.html
It is a maternity dress bit still fits me now with a belt ☺️

why use silk in a swim suit. it is my understanding that silk cannot be washed. Am I mistaking?

I had silk scraps on hand, and wanted to use them. I have several silk garments and even pillowcases and washing has not been a problem. ☺️

Is it 1940s or 1950s? The description says one, but you keep saying the other.

Sorry for the confusion! To be honest, I bought the pattern so long ago that I thought it was 1950's at the time when I recorded the video - by the time I was ready to publish the video, I had realized the pattern was actually for a 1940's swim suit. That being said, there is not a massive amount of difference between the two decades.
