I also believe that it has something to do with Christianity because in the beginning of the song it quotes Bible verses. Anyways you hear.. “return me to the womb” this is basically a transition meaning he has finished his previous life and is moving into the next. When I watched the series finale of the originals I didn’t think they were going to die I waited countlessly for someone to just come up with a solution and everything would be fine. But it didn’t and we got their deaths instead but I’m glad they at least gave us a great song.

Don't get me wrong this was an amazing and an emotional ending. I cried buckets, but I really wanted to see elijah find hayley (andrea) in the afterlife and have the dance she promised to him. I wanted to see klaus find cami and fall into her arms, all his hatred, his guilt, his paranoia, his violent tendencies etc finally all gone and his heart filled with nothing but love. I wanted to see them all at peace finally 😭
