Thank you! Always wondered how some trees are lit so perfectly. It's the double spacing going up and filling it in on the way down that is the trick!!! Can't wait to try this.
Great video. I just put my holiday lights up at my yard tree today. However, I would recommend that you use twist ties instead of staples, because staples can damage the tree bark. But yes, the lights sometimes need additional support or they will sag or fall over time.
"unfortunately I picked a tree with thorns" .... cute. Excellent video. I am planning to wrap similar size trees today, our one dry day this week. First time doing so, this is really helpful!
Instead of staples, we use a hot glue gun. Works great on most surfaces outdoors with no damage...at least we haven't had any damage yet. And we use electrical tape to waterproof all of the plugs
Nice video! Out of curiosity are you in the Southwest somewhere? It'd been super cool to have seen a shot or pic of the lights at night. Thanks for the video.
Great tips, but the extension cord is the wrong kind. That is an indoor only type of cord and not meant to run the type of power Christmas lights pull. Any time you run Christmas lights, especially a lot, you should only use a grounded 3-prong outdoor extension cord because they are made for the pull and are much more weatherproof and durable than what he is using. I have been putting up displays for more than 20 years and have had electricians help me over the years as I wanted to maximize my display while also being safe and those cords he is using are one of the first things I was told to avoid. Oh and I have never use staples on my trees when wrapping lights. The key is to hook them around notches or branches to keep them in place.
@@orthodoxNPC Pretty sure you want the tree alive so it can be lit up the next year?? And that it stays a living tree for the rest of the year??? Also it's 2020.
Great video demonstration. When he says, " ask your supervisor at 6.59 mark, is he talking about our wives? lol
Robert Dunford you hit the nail on the head with that comment. Lol
Yep!
Heck yeah! Thats bc usually wives decide the overall decoration and look lol. Hubs dont care if its cockeyed or listing to the side haha

Lol- that’s what I was thinking lol
Thank you. This is the first instructional video on the subject that is concise and answered all my concerns.

Love the video, but as usual another one without a ending! Why not show us the end ? Would like to have seen it lit up. 😔
Most likely the tree is hurting from the staples.

Very helpful! Going to try some of your suggestions this Christmas.

Very nice but it would've been even better for you to show the end result of the lights in the night. Otherwise, very helpful 👌🏽

Is there a proper way of creating a string of lights into a ball?
Staples in a thinly barked tree can introduce diseases and entry points for damaging insects.
who invited this guy?

Wear gloves & long sleeves if the tree has thorns ; )
He reminds me of Tom Cruise with super short hair😇
AWESOME!🌻
Can you recommend anyone in the bay area, specially san Jose , CA
I don’t need to staple right?
Just use bailing wire. You could actually use it the next year also!
You're here in AZ aren't you? lol looks like my backyard.
I lit a tree last year, I’ve moved to a new house that doesn’t have a tree in the front yard I can wrap with lights. )_:

A video thats is easily 7 minutes too long... and worse yet... then he never bothers to show you the end result.
Way too much talking.
