  • The People's Mosquito is a UK registered charity dedicated to getting a DH.98 Mosquito flying once again in the UK www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk/ca...
    Short teaser of a new film from The People's Mosquito.
    BAFTA-winning TV presenter and long-standing supporter of The People's Mosquito Arthur Williams tours Retrotec's stunning new facilities and talks to TPM Managing Director, John Lilley and Guy Black about our exciting plans to return a UK-built Mosquito to UK and European skies.
    We hope to release the full film to Club Members in the coming weeks, providing more insight into the engineering plans, the skills and the people behind the first de Havilland Mosquito to be built in the UK in more than 70 years.
    Support RL249's restoration by visiting www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk and donating/joining now.

    Great job guys. Good to see Arthur Williams getting behind the project. His enthusiasm in 'The Plane that Saved Britain' was infectious.

    Building their own moulds! could this lead to more than one?
    You'd have thought they'd buy a shell from AVSPECS in New Zealand.
    I wish these lads all the best.

    Great stuff! When is the whole film going to be broadcast? There is such a good team at The People's Mosquito - I'm sure the dream will become reality.

    What’s the story of the Me109 in the background?

    • @johnlilley2777
      @johnlilley2777 3 года назад

      It's a rare Me109-E1 which force landed circa Sept. 1940 due to an engine failure during the Battle of Britain, in Kent (I believe) but survived WW2, as it was used by us to drive war bonds / fundraising around the Empire. Was discovered in India many decades later and recovered to the UK by Retrotec.

      @@johnlilley2777 Fantastic! I don’t believe there’s any E models in airworthy condition anywhere.👍🏻

      @@fw1421 I believe there is maybe 2, but definitely 1 E-4 in Canada flying, but rarely seen, but no E-1's with the DB601 engine. This project does have an original engine to overhaul. The aircraft also has a good history to the JG (WIng) it was assigned too as well.
