Wez this project turned out really good and it's great to see that instead of ripping it apart that you upcycled the organ keeping it's original design and shape!!! If there was anything I would have done different i would have made the hide away panels on each side into mini storage compartments with spring loaded magnetic hinges to open them! As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Hi Wes, another great project, really enjoyed watching you salvage an old organ and giving it a new life. Not to sure about the LED lights, thanks for sharing.
Great design and video. I have done plywood edging on inside curves with a stream iron and they have made me crazy. The last time I did it I figured there had too be an easier way. I took a piece of scrap 2" (or so) metal conduit about 8" in length and clamped a vise grip pliers one end. I then heated the conduit with a propane torch and guesstimated when I had the right temp. I used one hand to run the conduit over the edging for the initial anchoring. Then I put a second vise grip on the other end of the conduit, heated it up again and then started ironing the edging until I didn't hear anymore bubble popping. It worked great. No more cussing. No more burned fingers. No more wasted edging. I figure I could do any inside curves this way just by adjusting the width of the conduit. I guess I could have used a non-contact thermometer to determine the temperature but this way worked just fine. PS if it's a big piece of edging wraps some rags around the pliers' handles. By the time I finished they were starting to get uncomfortably warm.
Wow Wes, you did an amazing job! I am really impressed with your ingenuity! You really made that look like a professional piece, nothing janky about it, it is absolutely stunning!!! I am overwhelmed by how beautiful it turned out!
Maybe a heat gun for the curves? I'm curious about leg room, as it seems a bit shallow. I wondered about somehow moving the bottom section back to give more leg room? But if the client is happy, that's all. It sure did turn out gorgeous. Very ingenious drawer, as well as how you pieced bits together for the back. Love that you put in that bit with the circles -- whatever that is called. (The stops?)
I have no $ or the skills, but I saw several projects of music modern keyboard deks recently. It would be amazing to put a Kaway, Casio, eletronic piano into this shell. Back to the Future like stuff.
its for a client of mine. they currently are working on building the house it will go in. could be a while before there is a picture of it in its final resting place
Of course I watch until the end I always do. This was a remarkable transformation, at first I thought PHAH until you got into it That's why I always watch until the end
I hear you. My clients father restored this organ many years ago. He has since passed on and they don’t know how to play it but they wanted it to be functional but also be able to remember their father by it. They didn’t want to get rid of it.
I'm so angry you did that but happy with the result... A piece of furniture that has an age and many story's destroyed to make you RUclips video.... But at the same time a piece that most people could use and its functional.
curling iron is round and heats up. I bet that could work to melt glue. There are many barrel sizes too.😊

Well done
I use a heat gun or blow dryer for edging and a leather glove to press it on

Awesome conversion! I'm going to be converting an old pump organ into a desk or bar soon, so this was super helpful!
Great work. Looks fantastic and such a unique piece.

Or use your wife's curling tongs. Just don't tell her.

Thanks! We were really unsure on how this would turn out.
You could try using a curling iron (for hair) for ironing in the curved cuts.

It’s actually not that bad to sit at. Another way to solve the issue would be to have a keyboard tray.
Very complicated but it looks awesome!☮️☮️☮️
What a great way to reuse an organ! It turned out really nice
Thanks! I am thinking about trying a piano next. Them seem easy to come by for free.
That's a cool desk, buddy! I like how you made the drawer. Nicely done, Wes. Greetings, Christophe
Thanks, enjoy your time off.
Well done Wes & that is one ornate desk! I am sure that your clients will love it. 👍👏
Thanks! They seem to be pretty happy
Hey Wes you can use a heat gun or your wife's Curling iron. Both work great!!
Next time. Thanks!
No problem!!
That’s pretty slick!
Thanks Doug!
Excellent work 👍🏼
Ladies curling irons may work for ironing concave edge banding?
Very cool repurposing of a beautiful piece of furniture. Very nice work.
Thanks. It’s now a useful piece of furniture.
Turned AYYOTE Nawice
You went all AYYOTE

Thanks! You are part of the 2% club that watches till the end
@@WesHamstra You're worth watching I always pick up a tip or two from your videos
Nice !!
Your gonna wear your trigger out. Great job
Thanks, not sure what you mean
curling iron on those tight bends?
Great idea
Modified a curling iron.
As a musician this is an outcry lol. Restore it I say.

@@WesHamstra oh! Fair enough but but hard pill to swallow for some of us. Those are hard to come by.
@@SmallAxeMP I can understand that.
Curves: Heat adjustable Stained Glass soldering iron.
How much did it sell for???
$1000
Not sure if it would work but may a woman’s curling iron for the curves.
That’s a great idea. Will have to test that out.

Thanks. People throw these things out all the time because no one wants them. It’s a real shame. Sorry to have angered you.
@@WesHamstra lol. As I said, new lease of life... It's the Shiney side of the coin ☺️
Wow
Thanks
WHATS YOUR EMAIL??
IF YOU LOOK FOR IT YOU CAN FIND IT
Good work.
But this is not an organ, this is a harmonium.
Never new that. Learn something new every day. It has it printed on it “bowmanville organ company” I just assumed that meant it was an organ
But but but it still looks like an organ 😢
