I love this routine. I didn’t feel well when I woke up and just started working very eerily even though I could finish before my journey.
I struggled looking for an ideal routine as I didn’t want to finish very late or starting too early. And, after working I used to feel very tired to do exercise, so I decided to do it in the morning before starting my work at home as well as doing some house chores to feel I’m in a confortable and nice place all my day.
I work from 11:30 to 7:30 with one hour to eat I am very happy with this. However, I’m sure it depends on each person and their needs, maybe I need to change it in a future, too. And it’s ok, we need to be flexible and realistic with our needs. 😊

I'm moving right now and honestly can't wait to have a separate dedicated space for work. I think it's super important to divide free time and work time :) Btw, loved the changes in the setting/background throughout the video :D

Thank you for this video! I love routine videos but I was tired about too fancy routines with a lot of things to be productive in your life which, from my point of view, the most of them are non-realistic or non-sostenible routines. ❤

This was just perfect for me right now! I’ve just changed companies. I used to work from 7am to 4pm, and most of my life I’ve worked from 8am to 5pm. But now I work from 10am to 7pm and this week was just a mess! To be honest, this whole week I was sitting at my computer from 8am anyway… Great video. Really happy with it!

This is awesome! I'm someone who's about to start working remotely and I've had trouble setting boundaries, so this is super helpful : ) I'm looking forward to starting off on the right foot thanks to your advice, thank you!

Yes! Sticking to boundaries is difficult but it's lovely to see you putting your foot down! I feel like seeing you deal with meetings after your log-off time makes it more okay for us to do the same. I'd definitely be interested in learning more about how you deal with other situations. Thank you for sharing! 💜 Also, your hair has gotten so long! Love it 😊

Exactly, and as a manager I feel I need to be setting a better example for my team too. Even though that means I have one hour less availability for them each day, which is hard (for me, mostly!).

Hey Charlie! I'm a big fan of the Design Life podcast. I like the new background layout you moved to have. It's clean and a nice blend of plants (Monstera and Parlor Palm) . I've been working on creating that right feng shui in this standard world of working remotely :) Keep up the great content!

This was really insightful. I have been having similar problems like this, in my case I found myself doing clients work for the most part of the day. I would be sure to take up some of the advise you gave, try them out and find out what works for me. Thanks again for the tips. I would definitely be coming back to this video as I experiment.

I had a very strict working hours when working remotely, now that we're back the office I try to maintain it, I don't want to wait another 30 minutes because it looks bad to leave before the senior staff

So glad you are optimizing your mornings! It took me years to figure out. I also need to get that SHUT DOWN routine down..still struggling with that. Other than boundaries with others, how do you queue to yourself to shut down at 7??

I totally get this. I’ve been slowly transition from 5 days, 40 hour weeks to 4 days, 25 now that the holidays are done. But I’ve learned all lot about what disrupts my work brain, especially since I’m pretty sure I still have covid fatigue after a December infection. so if I let my self relax to early I can lose 5 hours to an unplanned nap.
Now I just need to stick to the routine and add more movement into it and build in my own business and projects and I’m good to go.

    • @charlimarieTV

yess gotta make sure you're adding in time for your own priorities! (and also, its totally okay if a priority is a nap!)

Thanks for sharing Charli. The phone scrolling is real. We're going to try putting our phones in different rooms as well. Do you sometimes find you spend too much time at home since working from home? It's something we struggle with.

My question is: What do you do on Friday night, do you go to sleep the same as other working days or you push that over because it's the weekend?
I'm finding it easy to follow up Mon-Thu the waking up-going to bed routine, but if I change that for ,let's say, Friday and Saturday, I feel a bit off, and then it's Sunday, and the next working week is close.

Leaving early? Hmmf, just remember dear when you start work at 11:00 it is only 5:00 AM on the east coast of America. Try scheduling some of your meetings at 11:00 AM your time and they will quickly get the hint.
