Cool trick and nice video! Just thought I would mention...if you are doing this mod because of something like the DRLs staying on when you are parked somewhere (drive-in movie, etc as mentioned in comments), and if you are unaware...the DRL activation is tied to the emergency parking brake (2011 Odyssey Elite). In other words, if you engage the emergency parking brake, the DRLs will cut out automatically.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I recently upgraded both Low and High Beams on my '11. The high beams require a Decoder Attachment in order to bypass the DRL Error Code. After installing everything correctly and starting my engine, I was perplexed to why my DRL's weren't turning on. Then came across your comment, released my parking brake.....and Voila! GREAT SUCCESS 👍🏼👍🏼
@@speederc3662 You will need to use a Can-bus Error Code Canceller. It's like little junction/adapter between the LED and the socket. Reach out the manufacturer of the LEDs if possible. They might be able to recommend the correct type to get.
I have the opposite problem. My DRLs do not come on at all but all the lights including high beams work as they should otherwise. Fuse looks okay. I might change just to eliminate it but it not broken inside.
Thanks for the quick reply. That's good to know. I've installed LEDs on all our front lights, but the DRL mode is a bit too bright with them in. :P I may try this out knowing the brights still work. Thanks!
Nice. Now, is there a fuse dedicated to the car's gps & internet? No need to have Honda selling my driving info to the insurance companies & advertisers.
If you are just parked like at a drive in and want the daytime running lights off. All you need to do is engage the parking brake turn lights off turn car off for a few seconds. Turn car on and no daytime running lights while parked and running the car.
Bengal Ghost - I'm not sure what yearly inspection you are referring to, but does not affect the emissions testing procedures. This i know for sure. Also no engine lights will be on as a result of this disable
Bengal Ghost -- wow they test yearly emissions by you? Here in IL it's every 2-3yrs! I was worried about my tpms light being on would mess up the test..but even that didn't cause any issues with the test. Pretty surprised because it's a light / issue.
It looks so much better without those stupid running lights! Some LED running lights are so bright that people mistakenly think that their headlights are actually on, and not turning the headlights on means that the taillights are off at night, which is dangerous!
Behind Enemy Lines - nope, this mod won't give you any dash warning lights. Nice and clean look! Yes it makes sense your light is currently on without resistors, due to the lower power leds take to run (the system thinks it is burnt out due to the low wattage).
Having the same isssue of DRL indicator glowing in the dash after replacing stock headlight bulbs with all LED's on my 2013 ody EXL few days ago... GLAD TO FIND THIS THREAD.
Heal the world -- everything was working before you pulled the fuse out and works if you put the fuse back in? Seems very strange, those should be a different fuse #.
Jealous Lawn Care yes everything work before I pull fuse 27 out the driving light did turn off but so does the lighter n the stereo don’t know why .i have a 2012 odyssey lx
Alex Bird -- yes I have done this in one of my previous cars (and motorcycle), it won't cause any issues. I just like the ability to turn on bulbs/lights as I want to, rather than something always being on.
Alex Bird -- the DRL in my previous car and motorcycle didn't have any drl light isssues. However the DRL lights in the past I have changed to leds were the wedge type of bulb which I don't believe is the same as these on the Odyssey. The reason the DRL light is coming on is likely due to the difference in power consumption in the leds vs incandescent. If you wanted to go led route, it would be similar to changing the signals to leds. You would need to add/install resistors to each light.

I do have to say if you want the drl lights off that badly then put the parking brake on and turn it off when you turn the vehicle on they will turn on when you release the parking brake and that’s that. But if you live in Canada your going to get a message on your dash saying “check drl system” just warning you rn that’s what’s going to happen if you remove the fuse
Bob Bob -- resistors are used when changing the turn signals to leds to avoid error lights and signals going too fast when changing to led. The "K" in headlights defines the color and brightness of the lights
Thanks! #3 fuse for '08 Odyssey
Cem N Sophia - great thanks for that info! Very helpful

@@IshtiaqAlam hi, i had the same issue with my 11 odyssey exl. Replaced high/low beam to led. DRL warning is on during driving. What’s your solution?

I've thought about it! Do you still have this vehicle in December 2024? At any point since you removed the fuse did the DRL indicator come on?
I put HID lights in my 2014 and the drl light came on. But this fixed my problem. Thanks!
Great to hear!
What about the high beams? I replaced them with white lights instead of yellow.
Thanks man, this helped me out big time at the drive in movies.
Philly zx -- nice that's a good idea, I haven't been to the drive in for years...always a fun time though!
You can also just put your car in park and turn it off and then back on and they shouldn’t turn back on. This is what helped us at the drive in!
Drive in movies still a thing?? Where are you from?
I have the opposite problem. My DRLs do not come on at all but all the lights including high beams work as they should otherwise. Fuse looks okay. I might change just to eliminate it but it not broken inside.
I have a honda city hatchback 2022, is it still the same number for the fuse 27? Or another number?
Hmmm not sure to be honest...anyone else here able to helping with the same vehicle?
Just changed my headlights to LED, And DRL light showed up, which fuse should I pull out, I have a 2012 odyssey.
Try fuse 27 and see if that does it, that's for my 2014
Hey! Does the high beam function still work with this fuse removed or does it completely remove power to the bulb (being used for drl and high beams)?
Lee Smithson -- yes the high beams still work as normal, no issues there.

Yes good alternative idea
great done for Odyssey 2012
Does this work on the 2006 Honda Accords?
This would be the closer version for you : ruclips.net/video/TVFPpRwymaw/видео.html
If release the drl fuse i can turn on the low beam normaly?
Yes that's how I have our van after removing the fuse. No issues at all
Is the DRL the same light that you are using on High Beam?
No its a separate bulb
What is the wattage of the fuse that you removed on this video?
Not sure about watts but it's 15Volts
Will disabling the DRL cause a fail in the yearly car inspection ?
Bengal Ghost - I'm not sure what yearly inspection you are referring to, but does not affect the emissions testing procedures. This i know for sure. Also no engine lights will be on as a result of this disable

No DRL warning light on the dash?
MrRangerZr1 nope, I have no warning light on my 2014
I pulled 27 and it didn’t take the alert off my dash
Removing the correct fuse should not have any impact to dash error lights. What year is yours?
Thanks for the tip 👍, stay blessed
You too! Anytime 👌
Thank you .for your help and a Merry Xmas to u and your Family.🎅
Thanks you too! 🎉🎉
Do you still have this mini van?
Can you make a video of the wiring or connectors on the fuse box and wiring around it
Yes i do have this still, but unfortunately I don't know anymore about wiring than what I shared in here sorry.
Don’t the DRL’s also run the high beams?
It's in the same housing but it's a different light bulb

Set the parking brake and bingo no lights!
I'll try this myself!!
You have to have the parking brake on for them to turn off
Ahhh good trick to use as an alternative. Thanks!
I did it on my Odyssey 2009 and works fine, the fuse is located in another number just had to look de diagram of the cover of the fuse box.
DeepBlackOut - great to know, do you happen to know the fuse # to help others with a 2009 model as well?
@@JealousLawnCare yes it is the #3
DeepBlackOut - great, thanks for confirming for us all!
Would that work for a 2010 model? #3 or #27
When I did that in my odyssey 2009 I can hear a sound back in the 3rd row seat in the right side of the van
Does the High Beam still works even when you take the fuse out?
Rolan R. Uy, R.M.E. -- yes no effect on high beams.
How much amps for this fuse?
15A

yes need this one Drl is blown

What about rear DRL
What is rear DRL? Those are the lights and only come on when headlights are on i believe
You can also just turn vehicle off, set parking brake turn back on... bingo... no lights
Really i never knew that trick? I'll have to try it out myself!
I work but you will drive with a parking break on the hold time
Is that the case for this method?
This combo is the move
