I am a very new fan of evagelion, so i waited not so much time to get to view the rebuild, i mean, i did not understood the original series and if not the rebuilds movies, that have a very more explict message, i was about to have a nihilistic view forever. Evangelion will always be parts of who I am. It was the first anime I saw when I was 10 because my uncle had a pirated copy of death and rebirth and I had never seen something so cool. It launched me into a whole new world of anime, Japanese culture, video games and cosplay. I know I would of been a very different person if it weren’t for Evangelion. I hold it very near to my heart. That being said, I enjoyed the rebuild movies, they can have their issues but so did the original, as a matter of fact I always felt like they talked to much lol. I feel so lucky the creator re told the same story after 20 years but with a more mature point of view. A what if… I appreciate the movies for what they are.
So the mari is actually Anno's wife who came up from nowhere did nothing but heal the depression for him. So anno made her appear on his anime❤ other than that its still sucks😂😂
For me the Rebuild movies don't really offer anything new besides some cool looking scenes. Even the ¨more hopeful/ redemption finale for the characters¨ argument doesn't make sense to me, because the original series already did that. Even the End of Evangelion, as bleak as it is, also lowkey had the same hopeful message. The Rebuild only does it in a more in-you-face way.
The rebuilds are closure I wanted the films have an impact on me because it’s like saying goodbye and I’m happy with that I would much rather have a 3.0+1.0 then the end of Evangelion the end of Evangelion is an amazing film and I think it’s probably better but in the sense of closure Evangelion 3.0+1.0 takes that place and I’m happy to say Evangelion rebuilds are perfect
When I first saw evangelion a couple of years back I kinda hated it because it was boring as heck, villain of the week structure made me not really care about what is going on because it's predictable. Literally nothing in the world of NGE changes until EoE, every angel is destroyed with minimal losses, I know it's a character centric story and it's their development that matters but it really doesn't feel that way with how the show is structured. End of Evangelion did hit me and left me with the message "go touch grass". Since I was disappointed I didn't watch the movies until a year or two later, the first one was ok since its just the first 8 episodes but the next day I was blown away by how drastically they changed the story in the second one and I binged the rest and was once again left with the message "go touch grass" but this time it lingered longer and was also more hopeful than what EoE left me with. Then I rewatched NGE and was bored again, might work if I try again in a couple of years.
The "rumours" aren't like that, Anno wanted to tell the gap between 2 and 3 (which is what originally was going to be film 3 to start with), but he didn't want to do that himself, so he'd be happy if someone else in the team took that project and made it live. And saying that Evangelion is Anno's work is quite shallow, everyone involved in the project had a lot of input in it and many things that are loved today weren't in Anno's initial plans or even were against his initial view.
in my opinion, i know the movies wouldnt exist without mari but if she wasnt there, The movie wouldve been better, there was no reason to add a new character to a franchise like eva, especially when eva has so many characters that people love for their own reason, mari its just boring, just a girl with big boobs and glasses i get it its hot, but no, also sad she got with shinji when asuka and shinji its just the way and it makes sense they both have similar lifes and i can see them together. but im happy still that shinji got the happy ending he deserved, because he truly deserves it. goodbye evangelion
I love the Rebuild movies, well, 1-3 that is: 1.11 You Are Not Alone (2007), 2.22 You Cannot Advance (2009), & 3.33 You Are Not Alone (2012). While they are not as great as the series and original movies (Death And Rebirth & End Of Evangelion) they are still a masterful trilogy that kept the spirit of the original alive, as well as the meaning of moving forward despite overwhelming odds and strife. I will defend them to the death. 3.0+1.0 was very unsatisfying to me for many reasons. It really wasted an opportunity for Shinji, Rei, and Asuka to bond in the wasteland for at least half an hour as promised at the end of 3.33. The "wanderers" thing comes out of left field. Rei Q's death was so out of left field and we are given so little time for impact, plus it makes little sense. Rei dies, we hardly see Shinji's reaction, we get like 5 seconds, and then in a cutaway he is primed to confront Will-E, it is so rushed. Asuka goes out way too easily. The lack of SEELE was very noticeable. The plot points in the last half get really over the top, especially with the whole "imaginary Eva" thing which still is so asinine and to the creation of the new spear which comes off as a major deus ex machina. Kaji being killed OFFSCREEN was such a disappointment and we hardly get any time to spend with him and Misato's son. The way Kaji comes back in the finale is so ridiculous I could not take it seriously either. It is also a *crying shame* that Rei gets SIDELINED in this movie, after how important her character was in the previous 3 movies, after Rei Q dies the original Rei gets less than 3 minutes with 2 scenes which is just so insulting to her character. To top it off, the whole "neon genesis" plot point is just so cheap and lazy, plus it contradicts the message of the last film as Shinji essentially runs away from his problems by creating a new world via a *total reset* where he essentially WISHES ALL HIS PROBLEMS AWAY. Which is the very thing 3.33 said in no uncertain terms is IMPOSSIBLE and effectively punishes him for. Also, a lot of visuals in the finale were rehashed from End Of Evangelion. Basically, the ending feels like Anno just gave up and wanted the thing over. The passion was not there anymore. The fact the movie went through development hell, unlike the previous 3 entries, is quite visible. I would love to have seen the original version before all the chaos that got Anno to rework the project so much. On a more positive note. Probably the closest we will ever get to the original version of the finale is through the Japan Animator Expo (2014) short Anno produced and wrote called *Until You Come To Me.* Have you seen it? It does what 3.0+1.0 does much better in mere minutes, in my view. Makes for a nice epilogue to 3.33. Plus, there are two other Evangelion animated short films from the 2014 Japan Animator Expo that serve as epilogues to Rebuild 1 and 2. Them being *Neon Genesis Impacts* which happens mainly after 1.11 and *Another Impact-Confidential* which is set between 2.22 and 3.33. Seen them? If not, I highly recommend them, RS.
the original show (+ the end of evangelion) and the rebuilds, i love them both equally. they are different universes that are both canon and original in their own way
my fav version is the original anime with it's ending, it's perfect. In eoe I like Rei and her development and impact + gendo's head being bit off. Rebuilds bastardised the vast majority of the characters and their complexities, coherency, implications, motives, metaphores, and narrative impact.
I understand thoroughly what the original Evangelion is about, that's why I'll forever hate it. The Rebuild movies, especially 1.0 and 2.0 give a different perspective and route of the story, that's why to me those two movies is the only Evangelion movies I need to watch. The ending of trying to save a girl even the result of destroying the world is fine by me. I know that 3.0 is made to undermine people who love 2.0 ending but the story is soo far off from 2.0, it doesn't really matter even it's canon or not. To me Evangelion is just Rebuild 1.0 and 2.0, everything else just irrelevant to me as I don't really care about "author intention" My own enjoyment is the only thing I need.
This part of the film nobody gives sinjhi any answers is a characteristically depressive acenario, to represent the confusion the character feels and all .... i get that you dont get it but that's it.
I feel very similar to your comment. Can you imagine waking up 15 years later after going to sleep, it would be very strange and confusing. I feel they recreated that feeling pretty on point.

Seen them? If not, I highly recommend them, RS.
the original show (+ the end of evangelion) and the rebuilds, i love them both equally. they are different universes that are both canon and original in their own way
33:33 she's actually talking about Yui my dude..
Dear lord! What did Mari ever do to you! 😂
i might be wrong but i think he doesn't like marie guys, i don't know tho
my fav version is the original anime with it's ending, it's perfect. In eoe I like Rei and her development and impact + gendo's head being bit off. Rebuilds bastardised the vast majority of the characters and their complexities, coherency, implications, motives, metaphores, and narrative impact.
Do you think youll do a video on the chainsaw man manga
Maybe in the future. Probably not anytime soon though
Omg brother it’s a sequel to the original show not a replacement!!!!!!!!
I was writing the video at the same time I was watching the films. These movies do not tell you this until the very end lol

Josh….
This part of the film nobody gives sinjhi any answers is a characteristically depressive acenario, to represent the confusion the character feels and all .... i get that you dont get it but that's it.
It’s still stupid even with that explanation.
I feel very similar to your comment. Can you imagine waking up 15 years later after going to sleep, it would be very strange and confusing. I feel they recreated that feeling pretty on point.
Most overrated series tbh. I just finished it and it was literally a chore to watch. So dragged out and boring all for it to be a dream at the end. Why tf do yall like this
i don't really like it either but wdym it was a dream? nowhere did it reveal it was a dream? did we watch the same show?
@@micu8942 Remember at the end everything went to normal and nothing that took place really mattered
@@MM-gp9mb still never was a dream tho? Shinji just reset the world so that it never had eva's
