Oh wow, it's great to see someone talking about this game and especially the best part of it which is the takeaway message about death and what makes this even better is that you admitted that you fear death but still talked about it.
I loved the Alan Watts speeches you included too. I loved that he talked about openly as it should be and the game helps with that of course.
For me, I don't fear death, it concerns me at most but what I do fear is wasting my life or worse, everyone dying that is, extintion. I accept death for 2 reasons. The first being that it is natural, and you see, there was an ancient Greek man who's name I do not remember but what I do remember is that when he was informed that his son died he replied simply and calmly "my son was always a mortal". In other words he meant to embrace death because it is going to happen either way though that wouldn't necessarily make him apathetic. The other reason is because there can be no life without death and vice versa, because, you see, when my father was once asked what happens when we die he said "you'll be 2 meters below the ground and worms will eat your corpse" which is rather blunt but true. The thing is, when any form of life dies it becomes the food for another. Therefore, each individual is composed of oh so so many forms of life and will after their passing be a part of another lifeform, thus not going to waste and being recycled because that's what mother nature does and always has done, cycles upon cycles, life after death, and death after life.
The only other things I fear or at least thay I am concerned about is being forgotten after my death and becoming a nihilist but as you touched on briefly, life being rare and temporary is what makes it so valuable and meaningful because if you were immortal it would render all things pointless since you can always do them in the future it defeats the sense of purpose doing it now but fortunately, it is not like that and so, we can for some time, live or lives or maybe even spend them helping others or the planet or anything greater than oneself with our common concern or fear of course being failure but yet again, succes would be meaningless without failure.
When I cried when I played this I did so not because of grief but because of joy that I got to hug and hear the last words of whom I care a lot about which almost never happens because death always comes suddenly and unexpected but here, we all got to bid them a proper farewell in such a beautiful place with such beautiful music.
It's been almost a whole year now since I've completed the game but not only did it feel like more like a month ago but I cried yet again at this game at the end of this video ;)
This game, this form of art is the most beautiful game I have ever played and I mean that both literally and metaphorically.
