PLEASE NOTE: In this video I incorrectly state that the copy of 'Another Side of Bob Dylan' is an original sixties pressing, when it clearly has a barcode on the back. Please excuse the brain-fart, and no need to point it out to me in the comments. 😌
Nice lot of collection staples and some intriguing detours and offramps, as well. Oddly enough I was thumbing through my Taj Mahal records last night including Natch'l Blues - I was just thinking mine had a different cover and then you mentioned it. Never seen a Byrds two-fer, I've got one by Spirit that combines their first two albums into one, again with different cover art (I later found the debut with its striking original cover on its own but the second still eludes so nice to have that two-fer as a placeholder). Remember finding that one in a run down thrift store in Arizona the first time I was there. Those Joni cover photos are taken not terribly far from me, apparently she had or maybe still owns some property on the coast here and the shots were snapped there - the "cheeky" ones apparently intended as her message to the record label. Cheers James!
Great stuff as ever James 😀🍿🎸🎶 Never listened to ‘Second Coming’; but absolutely love the Stone Roses’ S/T debut 🤩 Love Joni Mitchell; my favourite album of hers is ‘Lady Of The Canyon’ 😀 Great comp from The Jam 😎🎸 Keep up the awesome work as always James mate 🙌
Always nice to get some decent cheap records that a pal wants to get rid of. I’ve had that Byrd’s twofer for years. My first introduction to the Notorious Byrd’s Brothers LP, which I think is a sublime record. Played Joni’s For The Roses recently, it is a good one and yes, The Boho Dance is one of her masterpieces.
Wow congratulations James what a bunch of nice records and they all seem to be in really nice condition enjoyed the video now it's time to enjoy some sweet vinyl records 😊 Cheers mate and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
The Joni albums are fab. My Hissing of Summer lawns sounds good. Maybe thats a later version? Jethro Till This Was is also a good pick up.Quite Bluesy. Nice selection of albums and great for £60
Hi James. Nice faces lp. Any early rod Stewart. Cool Cpt beefheart. Nice Joni Mitchell. Tull cool. Fantastic Fleetwood Mac. Interesting Ike and Tina. Classic John mayall. Fantastic pickups.
Hi James, This is an impressive collection of records: Dylan, Mitchell, etc. All great. I quite like those two Proclaimers records. Somehow I even have the 1994 original pressing of their third album, Hit the Highway. I have never heard of 9 Below Zero. And, believe it or not, I have never hear that Stone Roses album!
Hey Brian. Honestly, you didn't miss much with the second SR, though it has a couple of nice things on it. I never bought the Proclaimers back in the day so it'll be nice to get to know these records now.
That Stone Roses was a crazy music buying moment. i was in shared house of 6.. I rushed home with the cassette, we all sat around the stereo in fevered anticipation, slowly drifting away one at a time, as the album stumbled on towards the end , never to speak of that moment again. Actually the opener is their best attempt at thet Zeppelin sound, but it a chore to listen to the whole thing.
@@jamesgriffithsmusic Yeah Begging You & Ten Story were decent. There may be a video idea in here, 'When you remember buying the album as being an event' particulaly as in the streaming age such a concept doesnt exist anymore. Thinking cap on!
Of the early Dylan albums Another Side Of Bob Dylan and Freewheelin are my favorites. Notorious Byrd Brothers is also my favorite. Bluejeans and Moonbeams is under rated. This Was is the Jethro Tull that I play the most. The first three or four Rory Gallagher albums are so good.
That's one amazing haul for £45... Pete is a good mate to you, James. Either one of the Stone Roses, Second Coming 1st press and the Fleetwood Mac debut on Blue Horizon are worth more than what you paid.
Great to see these James, lots of great titles there. Nice Dylan originals. I love both of those Joni albums..For The Roses is probably my favourite of hers..Hissing of Summer Lawns is magnificent..I love the jazzy weirdness of some of the songs.. ' The Jungle Line" is an interesting one..I saw a Thomas Dolby live concert on TV years ago and he covered it. I remember 9 Below Zero on The Young Ones, I think it was a song called ' 11 plus 11'. I like ' Live and Dangerous ' although it irks me that it's not the most honest of live albums..then again, Hawkwinds' Silver Machine was also a heavily studio manipulated live recording and that sounds incredible. I used to have Snap, no idea what happened to my copy ??.
Listen to the bootlegs of Lizzy around this time and you might be surprised how accurate it is to how they were live. Less tinkered with than you think
Thanks Rob. Yes it was '11 Plus 11' that NBZ did on the Young Ones. I still haven't heard the Joni album that Dolby worked on...the two of them didn't get on at all. I can absolutely see why he'd have been impressed by The Jungle Line.
Being offered someones old records fills me with a mixture of interest and dread 🙂. I want to have dibs on what they're offering, but it probably also means lots of stuff I'll probably never play that I couldn't leave behind.
Cool stuff! Your copy of "Another Side of Bob Dylan" is not an original pressing as you stated (UPC present on the back upper right hand side). I'm sure with such a big collection you got it confused with something else. That Byrds record is awesome. Cheers!

Great video James. Just wanted to thank you for turning me on to the Tindersticks a few videos back. Really enjoying their first 3 albums. Merry Xmas!

Many good titles some I have some I'd like to have 😊. Love it when things like this fall into your lap. Happy listening James.
It doesn't happen very often so you gotta enjoy it when it does!

Such a wonderful windfall of albums. Hope you get to enjoy all that great music. Cheers

Yeah totally agree though side 1 definitely has his moments. I forgot to mention 'Begging You', that's a bit of a belter. Compliments of the season!

Yes that is always a danger. I tried to be selective in what I took and I have moved quite a few items on.
I have the Mono Beano an outstanding album
It is indeed Jon. Excellent to hear from you!

Whoops, yes you're right. I haven't run these records through Discogs yet.
Nice one Pete - got a few of those James - the Byrds 2 fer , faces etc - good deal made there 👍🇬🇧🫡
That original,"another side of bob Dylan "had a bar code ?
Yeah sorry I got that wrong.
