00:00 - CV boot / CV joint boot / CV joint gaiter: step-by-step replacement tutorial
01:00 - To dismount the outer CV boot, simply remove the CV joint from the wheel hub
01:49 - Use a punch and hammer to knock the joint out
02:23 - Detach the CV joint from the axle shaft
02:50 - Remove the boot and clean the old grease off the CV joint
03:42 - Remove the thrust washer, the plastic bushing that limits the articulation angle, and the fastening bolt
04:57 - Thoroughly clean all parts of the joint
05:17 - Inspect the inner race
06:47 - Tighten the clamp and turn the boot inside out to prevent it from getting dirty
07:12 - Fit a new circlip
07:48 - Degrease the surface of the CV joint housing and put the boot on carefully
09:16 - Clean all the components and check their condition
10:43 - Carefully put the boot on
11:33 - To replace the inner CV boot, remove the larger clamp
12:40 - Put a new boot on the axle shaft
14:04 - Reinstall all the suspension components you removed

Quite doable work for me. CV boot cost me only 60 dollar and the semi shaft is nearly 1000 each. Regrease will help me understand a lot of my car than just replace the whole shaft.

Very informative video, im doing this now on a Volvo V50 T5 AWD (passenger front)… which cars are these axles off of?? One of them looks almost exactly like the one im doing. Im just trying to make sure im putting it back together correctly.
