- Since the landscape of the Acheron race is confusing right now, I'd figure I'd make a video explaining each version of the level that's currently in play right now. This list is not exhaustive and more changes and newer versions could come up in the future.
Also, this should go without saying, but you shouldn't hate on anyone here for playing on a copy that you think they shouldn't be playing on. I'm not making this video to take shots at other competitors in the race. I just want to talk about each version and their difficulties as I know a lot of people are confused right now.

This is honestly pretty new. Every race was to see who gets the first Victor in one version of a level but for Acheron it’s a race to see who’s version gets verified first

This video is old and kinda bad so I apologize for that.
Also, at the time of this comment, Zoink recently verified a buffed version of the "Zoink" Version despite the level being update locked. It will (very likely) not be updated to the servers.
However, his version added a few more changes including hide player flashes and very small hitbox changes at the 49 straightfly, some very minor predrop changes, and patched out the 35 bypass.
Edit: Just days ago, ryamu showcased the old, unnerfed version of Acheron that features different gameplay in the drop and the ending. This version is comparible in difficulty to Riot's version.

Im happy you are not prioritizing difficulty over enjoyment. Its really nice to think that some players like you don't care if its top 1, 2, 3 etc. but rather just wanna make it as more enjoyable for the sake of our sanity. The current top 3 levels are already painfully hard and draining to play so i really appreciate you not being greedy for the top 1. Wish you all the luck to verify this and stay positive!

i kinda want acheron to be top 1 so we have an actually good top 1 for once but at the same time I don't want it to be _too_ forced top 1 because then it probably wouldn't be fun. So probably alpha or a slightly buffed alpha would work best

This is a GAME.
You play game to have fun.
Additionally, what you’re saying is bs. Zodiac, despite being top 1, was and has been considered really fun overall. Slaughterhouse and AOD have also been considered pretty fun.
Top 1s are oversaturated in the community anyway, and besides, it’s not like you’re gonna beat it anytime soon.

What I don’t understand is why your version being more fun matters at all. It’s still a top 2, not a top 30-40 like what happened with cobwebs, which makes it inaccessible to literally everyone except like 10 people max.
It doesnt matter how many players can access it, the level should still be somewhat enjoyable.

Most of them want to play a level so they can get views and achievements, if the level is also fun on top of that then it's gonna be better, not everything has to be hard level, and Zoink buffed it way more than necessary considering that even Space thinks Alpha's version could possibly be harder than Slaughterhouse

Why do you think Cursed is gonna play the old Acheron that's between Tartarus and Firework difficulty? Why do you think Trick decided that he's not gonna beat anything harder than AOD? Nobody wants to play Zoink's Acheron

This is the problem with the top 10 nowadays it only gets a simple rate without it being featured. Poocubed, kyouki and limbo r the ones with a feature and I was hoping ppl would follow down that path but nope they say “screw the decoration and focus on the gameplay”.

Noclip acheron by 0spears is the only one ive found with zoinks verified top 1 version and fucking hell..
and space also said zoink's is top 1 so if that version's verified first the dispute for what's top 1 will be over

When it comes to top 1s they’re not supposed to be fun imo. Nobody seeks out a top 1 for a good experience. Personally I just want zoinks version to be verified to prove how much more we can push difficulty. (And for slaughterhouse to be dethroned)

You make a very good point and I totally agree but there are people who’ll say it shouldn’t be rated as it’s not possible on the game’s native refresh rate. Just have to play by the rules sometimes.

to be honest 60 hz is slowly becoming the non default refresh rate because so many people use 240hz-360hz, but i guess someone could still try to intentionally use 60hz just to see what runs they can get on a low refresh rate, sorry if the comment appeared mean by the way, wasnt my intention
Iirc, a level needs to be possible to beaten on 60hz to be rateworthy
@@yyyy-ml9pr no, an extremely small portion of the playerbase uses 240 or higher, even if you count bypass. The average player does not play on anything higher than 60.
But the only players able to enjoy it are top players anyway, so making it more "enjoyable" to more people makes no sense. No one's gonna play this for fun, people are playing it for fame, less people are gonna play this if it's not top 1.
