I've seen several people use alcohol inks and none of them applied it quite the way you did - using the alcohol blending tool. I didn't really care for the results others got with all of the runny ink. Your method took it to another whole level - really does look like granite or some other beautiful stone. These are such beautiful cards, especially with the fall colors. This has inspired me to give it a try. Thank you for the inspiration!
If you use the Grafix Opaque White Craft Plastic, which looks just like Yupo but holds up to heat well, I bet the results with alcohol ink will be awesome. I'm going to have to experiment with this...yippee, more playing ahead... Thanks Gina for the terrific ideas and beautiful cards to scrap lift!!!
These are beautiful! When I saw the embossed leaves I immediately thought of the gold dipped leaf pendants I got on a trip to Colorado years ago. I need that stamp set so I can give this a try.
Absolutely beautiful cards!! I didn’t realize there was a black alcohol ink paper, definitely need to get some! I think I’ll be getting out my inks today. 😊
These cards are stunning! I haven't tried this kind of paper yet and I've never been comfortable with all the ink mixing, but you really make me want to give it a try. Thank you so much for all the tips.
Beautiful , Gina! I've not tried using the blending tool and pouncing it as you did, but you got such beautiful results that I just have to try it. And who knew that if the inks were still a bit wet that you could use the foil on the paper! Great instructions!
Oh my goodness Gina!!! I could never have imagined being able to do something as beautiful as these cards!! Especially the last one with the gold foil!! Absolutely beautiful!! And it looks like it would be fun to see what colors would go together too😁 Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration!! Love using your stamps 🥰🥰🥰
You are AMAZING! I love to play with alcohol inks and bought a pack of three of the pearl inks...haven't had a chance to play yet but after seeing your video...OH MY WORD! Absolutely stunning cards, Gina!! You are such a blessing!!
The backgrounds you created with the Alcohol Pearl inks are amazing and the tip for adding gold little foil accents - inspired. Can't wait to give this a try.
Mz Gina your work is always gorgeous! Your products are always exceptional and i thankyou for the blackest cardstock ive found and your lace stencil is my go to for quick, impressive cards! Cheers from Australia!
Simply fabulous! I bought the alcohol pearls a few months ago, but I haven't played with them yet. Now I know what to do! Thanks for another great technique video.
Beautiful cards! I noticed someone asked about embossing on Yupo. Like you said, it is possible but have to be very careful. Another option I wanted to recommend is something called Craft Plastic by Grafix. Marco's Paper carries it and have videos on how it works - no heat warping whatsoever! One other thing I wanted to mention, when shaking up the Alcohol pearls, look at the bottom to make sure all pigment that usually lays on the bottom is mixed up - you can see it, it's opaque. It takes some extra time, but is worth it when you see the gorgeous shimmer.
Gorgeous - I've been intrigued by foil but haven't wanted to make a big investment. I have the alcohol inks and now I need to buy some of your foil. Beautiful ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Those cards are stunning. I have avoided alcohol inks because frankly they did not appeal to me all that much, but these panels - wow! Must rethink my position on alcohol inks. 😉
I didn't emboss on the Yupo Paper however, I have in the past. I have been able to do it by letting my heat tool run for about a minute first to get it nice and hot and then quickly melting the powder. The cards that I embossed on didn't use Yupo Paper, they used Tim's alcohol Ink Card Stock which is awesome!
These are simply gorgeous! I didn't see you use any anti-static treatment. Does the embossing powder not stick to the alcohol inks and/or paper used? I hadn't thought about doing any Autumn" cards, but your cards have changed my mind!

P.S. the gold leaf is my favourite.
Can both side of yupo paper can be use ?
beautiful, but how do you emboss on the yupo paper without it melting/ warping?

It really doesn't seem to stick to the alcohol inked paper! But you do have to make sure your background is totally dry first! :)
Gina K. Designs thank you. Was afraid I’d missed something!
