The most revealing thing I've seen him say is when he was debating Michael Knowles. He said "I don't do definitions, I do politics."
That's like saying " I don't care about the truth, I care about power."
More like saying, all facts, statements, news articles, and scientific articles can be interpreted anyway I see fit. Quite convenient if you are debating someone.
It's the whole "reality is subjective" shit turned politics.

He kept reassuring his audience by saying how his campaign is imploding and people are leaving his rallies in droves. He even seemed taken back when Trump won in Iowa during his live stream and it was all because of a single poll, despite every other poll being consistently the opposite. He believed in his own propaganda and he even gaslit his audience right after the election by claiming he has been telling his audience he warned them of Trump has been doing better in the polls. He is a manipulative, gaslighting pos. PBD is only holding Pakman to the same standard when it comes to polls and he only listens to the polls that goes along with his ideology. I have been following David Pakman for five years. I am a conservative myself but I always have an interest of what the other side has to say. David was one of the few on the left who seemed to be willing to have a serious discussion; at least this is what he seemed to be. Now, after the election, though, he is showing his true hateful leftist radical colours. You were right; Patrick Bet-David was the one who dressed him off completely.

My first time listening to Pakman. His two main themes seem to be "I don't have any data to support what I just said" and "Give me some data to support what you just said." I think your correct in scripted as far as having memorizing a list of talking points, cherry picked data and counter tactics to muddle and redirect when confronted with truth or facts. You see it all the time with paid political contributors, strategist and talking heads. When confronted with concrete facts, redirect, change subject, lie or misrepresent what your opponent says.

I'm an Aussie too. I found out how biased media is world wide when I was curious to see why people voted for Trump the first time while he was constantly accused of being the worst Tyrant in the world and was going to start WW3. It actually shocked me how blatantly they lied about him, even when we could see the true footage. I started following this election campaign with interest. It was fascinating to watch them double down when Trump started gaining ground. The rhetoric was dialed up with every poll. Thanks to social media people started to see the real Trump and he was polar opposite to what they said he was. He is actually a decent man. I have never trusted media since. I always go to the raw content. I try to watch live coverage or unedited. Red flag when they say 'here are the highlights, I watched it so you don't have to' You can be sure it is not accurate.

I was neutral towards Trump mostly, but over time I started liking him. Not because he is some kind of great hero, but because he is what USA needs. A slap in the face, cold shower, their reality must be shattered for them too see whats going on. Im not from USA, but its insane how even in my country (which isnt any political/economical powerhouse) the anti-Trump propaganda was going full throttle. Media was straight up lying/misinforming about everything he did, while at the same time doing nothing about Kamala Harris, but praise/neutral comments.

The only reason David relies on polls and statistics is because they can be spun and manipulated. He also knows that all the institutions are on his side, so the framing would already be in his favor.
And they think it gives them an air of authority and qualification they don't have. It's a lazy way of compensating for lack of actual time spent on educating yourself in a holistic fashion. It's fine when you're young but usually people, intelligent people who have experienced real life, tend to build on that as they move on from high school and they form full views of the world and learn more about history and such. These people are just basically playing a braindead tit for tat kind of game, with some obscure form of scorekeeping and an obscure objective that can never quite be attained, but they pretend like it can as if they can eventually "win" if they just cite enough of the right things at the right time. Compared to Pakman, Hasan, Sam Seder, etc., he is much more fair than they are. Some of his biggest haters are Hasan fans, for example. He functionally supported Rittenhouse and got kicked off Twitch for pointing out that trans women and biological women are different.
He is still an uber lib and he has gone off the rails a bit over the last 6 months or so, but if you look into it you will find significantly more examples of him being reasonable than most of the other left wing pundits combined.

As someone who is not a Christian, never has been, I fully support this country remembering it's roots as a Christian nation and re-adopting those same values that basically all of Western society are rooted in. The people that trash religion for it's perceived historical crimes are no better than the people blaming modern white people for slavery, I truly believe there's no major religious group on the planet right now that has been more screwed and persecuted than Christians since the end of WW2, there just isn't one massive "holocaust" type event you can point at but if you zoom out it's obvious, to me anyway.
The types of disagreements that are happening now, and have been happening, between conservatives and new Trump voters are the kind of rational, American disagreements we used to have where we actually had people raising valid concerns and debating real issues from places of intellectual honesty. The lunatic left, and people like Pakman, have turned modern politics into a professional sport where you just try to beat the other team into submission by any means necessary and no matter what you *always* root for your team. They are going to grift, lie and cheat their way into irrelevance and you can see it happening in real time, you can feel it. They gave up all their positions that used to appeal to people like me (even though I still could never vote Democrat, I avoided both parties until Trump and generally voted 3rd party or wrote people in lol) such as being anti-censorship, anti-war and generally being the refuge for people with anti-establishment beliefs. I don't see how they ever recover from giving up that ground to the Republicans, that pushed a lot of independents such as myself into the GOP's camp basically overnight and I've never felt so good about voting for anyone in my life as I did voting for Donald Trump. These people still have no idea how fucking doomed they really are, especially if they keep up the bullshit. Being Republican is now "cool" - it's the new punk rock. And Democrats are going to rue the day they let us have THAT and that isn't something that can just magically be fixed, they are gonna have to ride that out, perhaps for decades and I'm fuckin here for it lol.

Packrat’s routine is to reject anecdotal evidence and then use it himself.
Appeal to the authority of random “experts” he’s talked to while never going into detail and then immediately change topics.
If he’s losing he says the current topic isn’t going anywhere, is boring the audience, is pointless etc.
If you’re doing too well, he accuses you of bouncing around from subject to subject being all over the place.
Claim to be a data guy but on any point that doesn’t serve him he said he doesn’t know the data and so can’t comment.
When you use data he claims that it’s basically anecdotal since it’s just one source of data and if you correct him that it’s multiple sources, he starts claiming the topic is going nowhere and tries to move on.
When you try to quote things he just said to you, he derails the debate to bicker over the exact wordage you use and even sometimes forgets what is he himself just said, and incorrectly claims he was misquoted.
If he’s truly caught being proven wrong in the worst possible way with the most evidence, he then will resort to picking apart the semantics of every little word used to describe everything you say in the hope that the audience will become so confused as to what’s even going on that the whole topic will (hopefully) fall apart.
He's not worth the effort to even interact with.

What a lot of people dismiss by calling it anecdotal is actually not anecdotal but empirical, especially if the "anecdote" is experienced by many different people. Anecdotal refers to one person having a one off experience not many people having an experience in common.
The tactic of "whatabout" is very effective for debasing an argument. It doesn't work because it is correct, it works because it can get the other person flustered and lose track.
Find someone who is good in a debate. Study them and try to learn how to stay on track. Practice. Get into hard conversations. This is an important skill.
I watched probably every "Change My Mind" that Crowder produced, because he is a very effective debater and does well to stay on track.
This next point deserves a video on its own but I'm going to write it here: Note that Crowder offers definitions in the Change My Mind debates. This is extremely important and brings me to why many debates are pointless; People assume others attribute identical definitions.
Yeah I myself largely don’t watch debates maybe clips of debates of some highlights but both sides on a debate almost always say their side won.

@@ProGamer-zm5ow yep that’s what I meant, generally I look for videos on discussions because they’re not heated the ego has left the room and people can talk vs when I hear someone like destiny vs Wilson it becomes an ego match and nothing is resolved because at least from what I’ve seen both sides generally use disingenuous tactics, so I prefer channels like Joe Rogan where it’s a discussion and he brings on multiple people with multiple points of view admittedly it’s not in depth about I get more from listening to that than any debate.

Pakman loves to defer to "the experts" that he has supposedly spoken with. And of course they always agree with him.
This is a problem that Peter Boghossian points out. The media's definition of an "expert" in 99% of cases is a professor of some sort, and they are overwhelmingly left and exist entirely within a left wing infrastructure. No matter the topic you will have a far left professor who will be available to present a massively biased viewpoint on said topic. In some cases, like modern gender theory, the topic is completely invented and maintained by the professors who teach it; there is literally no "experts" that disagree with it, because you are not allowed to participate unless you already agree.

He SHOULD know those things off hand. If I hired an IT guy to make a program for me as an employer to show his knowledge in programming on the spot, him saying, "I can do that. Let me go home first and bring it back..." is not going to cut it.
Funny thing about that there, as someone that works with a lot of programmers (and sometimes delves into it myself as part of my job- on a very surface level at that), a lot of (even decently good) ones spend a lot of their time googling how to do their job. It's a common joke amongst those in the field.
A direct quote from a guy that wrote a book and taught courses on programming said "It's not really that I'm a great programmer, it's that I am really good at googling stuff."

The super complex stuff, that is understandable... but in keeping with the theme, Packman can't even write a "Hello World" program and calls himself a programmer :p lol

Welcome to the world of debates! May I caution you, though. Debates are not so much about truth, more of a WWE for nerds. They're a little overrated, and I don't really learn much from them. I much prefer long-form discussions, a-la Jolly Heretic

I have been thinking about this issue for over 20 years. The comment sections (or "bottom half of the Internet") is a mixed bag. The illusion of unlimited information, delivered instantly.
In reality we get one distraction after another, Important issues and discussions are buried by "influencers" both online and in traditional media if they are "counter-narrative" and "anti-agenda"
Not enough people are asking who is manipulating the narrative and what is their agenda.
Warren is really good at finding examples of their tactics and explaining why they do what they do - this was particularly interesting because it demonstrates counter-measures. "Turning the tables" - the Kryptonite of the disingenuous and dishonest.
They are masters of lying to themselves to justify their beliefs, lying to everybody else is a piece of cake!
