    Well, I'm not defending here any particular opinion but regarding difficulty level, everyone says PLAB is way easier. But I know someone who has passed USMLE step 1 & 2 from the first time and still failed twice in PLAB2

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 года назад +3

      Exactly. It's down to not underestimating an exam as well.

    • @Drzeezy
      @Drzeezy 3 года назад +2

      Well true , ofcourse easy or difficult is based on subjectivity . But as it is the Plab exam does have less steps and less detailed in comparison to USMLE . So yea id still say PLAB is comparatively easier

    • @RoadToUK

      Most hospitals do charge a fee, but they are considerably less than in the USA. Also, you don't HAVE to do an observership in the UK to get a job, but in the USA, attachments etc are highly suggested to ensure a Match.

    After clearing IELTS/OET withing 2 years we have to clear plab1 or both plab 1 and 2. Because OET /IELTS result accepted up to 2 years.

    • @RoadToUK

      Technically a valid IELTS/OET is not needed for PLAB 2, but it is needed for PLAB 1 and GMC registration application. So if you want to complete all of this with a single exam, you need to do it within the 2 year validity.

    Thank you very much Dr. Ibreez for such an informative comparison. May I ask for your guidance please 🙏🏻For an IMG who is currently in her final-year of medical school, is it easier to apply for a 2-yr Foundation Programme in the U.K, or complete 1 yr of internship in my home country then apply for an FY2- stand-alone position, or complete my 1-yr internship and work as a GP in my home country then take it from there to apply to Core training in the U.K.? Please note that 1 year of internship training (post-med school) is a requirement for graduation & granting the MBBS degree by our university, but there are no restrictions on where we train for that, as long as it is a university-teaching hospital or a hospital with a residency training program.

    I'm Meha from India. My medical School will provide me "log book" at the end of completion of the internship. Is it sufficient or do I need "transcript book" for full GMC registration??
    Please answer it ASAP sothat i can proceed further accordingly

    For the observership, how do you apply for it? Is it before you apply for residencies? And how good are your chances without this observership?

    Hi doctor. I appreciate that you make this useful video. I have a question. I am a final-year med student and was planning for sitting the PLAB1 test after graduation. However, the Korean government went very wrong and they just don't let us take a license test this year. (We took part in a demonstration against gov', that's why)
    Anyway, I was wondering if I wasn't able to get an official license this year, could I sit PLAB 1 test after graduation? (Graduation will be in January next year)
    Probably I could sit my license test in September, next year. I just don't want to waste my time. Thank you.

    Can you please suggest me I am from Pakistan and if one's purpose is only good training, and he has to come back to his country after completing the residency and has not to practice as a consultant in the USA, should he go for USMLE or PLAB as there is a good work-life balance in the UK but en excellent training in US and the pay is better in US at consultant level but I plan to do the only residency not job. then Should I go for USMLE or plan? Like should I put such investment and hard work if I have to come back after residency from US?

    I think you have to take step 1 before step 2 now. And step 2 cs has been cancelled for good. And step 1 is pass/fail. No scores. You can also match in the SOAP if you don't match in the main match.

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  3 года назад +1

      You can take Step 2 before Step 1. The new Step 2 CS information is more recent than the publishing of this video. Step 1 will not be pass/fail until 2022 at the earliest.

    • @RyanAmplification
      @RyanAmplification 3 года назад

      @@RoadToUK yes I forgot it was 2022 when that starts. when step 1 becomes pass fail you won't be able to take step 2 before step 1. That was part of the change. I was just updating the video in the comments for you. Not challenging you on that.

    After the recent change that has been made in USMLE : 1. The number of attempts has been made four which was previously six, 2. Numeric scoring has been changed to "Pass/Fail" in Step 1. However, in other parts of USMLE scoring prevails, 3. One can not take Step 2 before completing Step 1.

      Numeric score will be applicable from Jan 2022.

    Could I take PLAB to work for a year in the UK and then take usmle . Or should I just complete MRCP in UK and then apply since it would benefit me in my CV ?! Please, share your opinion. I do not wish to stay in UK permanently.

    Can we apply for PLAB 1 during our internship?
    We get final diploma after completion of internship
    But we do get provisional certificate after completing 5th year and passing the exams
