Yeeeeas...always will remember the first time ever hearing this tune, at an allnignt rave on a hill overlooking Loch Ness! The police arrived at 5am and got booed away, the song that came on as the sun started rising over the loch? Cowgirl! What a moment, and it was Darren priece from underworld on the decks too :-) shit like that doesn't happen anymore
I have a similar/different memory of first heating this track in a renegade party in the rainforest in NSW, also sunrise after a wild deep night. You’re right, we don’t have those moments any more, but how lucky we are to have had them!
Years ago I had this and other videos of thiers on VHS...awesome! I "paid it forward" and gave it to a friend....or do I still have them??? Gotta find them on a DVD.....
I have been searching for this song for so long, ever since we used it in a drama physical theatre workshop. I'm sorry happy I found it, it's truly an entrancing song.
I had a VHS music assortment in the 80's delivered to me as a a random alternative music video selection and I !oved this song. Glad to have it again on U-Tube.
The original after party song after my first party in '95. Honeymooned w chemistry all night got home and put this in the vhs player and realized that the music was going to be something that would be with me forever..well... it's kinda been forever. Thanks for uploading this so long ago, I've had it in a playlist since you first shared it..figured better late than never to just say "thanks". I still listen and it is still just a monster of a tune. Cheers!! Quarantine 2020!
I first saw this on MTV....back when people used to know what the M stood for...Anyway, they played this on a show called Liquid Television. In what...the 90's??? I was transfixed...Sarge...
+mundrubjet Early in the morning around late-late 1990s/2000 on Viva Zwei (alternately known as Viva Plus). Unfortunately, my first experience seeing this video was really terrible, and for the longest time I couldn't catch this video on tv, and didn't know who the artist was, though I was aware of Underworld through a different song of theirs. I could say, that despite the bad experience, I was really transfixed. Yet every time I see this video, the bad experience of seeing it for the first time brings unpleasant memories of having been continually interrupted when watching it. And I'm somehow unable to disassociate seeing this video with that bad experience. So, every time I watch this video, I wish for each such time to be like the first time, but without being interrupted.
+mundrubjet Liquid Television was were Beavis & Butthead came from. You're talking about MTV's AMP. Wish that show was still on. They covered some decent songs on that show. Haven't watched MTV since.
+Mart Rootamm I feel ya, man...I have learned though that that association thing can be changed. Just watch the video a LOT while you're in a good mood and having fun. After a long enough time, the good association will replace the bad. But ya gotta do it a lot...Good luck. Sarge...
+umjames Good catch. I used to watch both on Sat nights back when they were on. I think they ran one right after the other so I can see where I coulda got mixed up. There were a lot of cool things on both those shows...Sarge...
Karl usually takes his lyrics from overhears snippets of conversation - in that sense, yes, he's taking the everyday and turning it into indecipherable art.
Interesting. At the very beginning of the video, written at the bottom in cursive is the following - 'The world is all that is the case' - Opening lines of Wittgensteing Tractatus Logico Philosophicus. Awesome stuff.
I SCREAM...I SCREAM...(ice cream)...I SCREAM so much you know what i mean this electric dream. and my tears in league with wires and energy... my machine, this is my beautiful dream. im a' hurting noone....im hurting nonone. i want to give you everything, i wanna give you energy, i wanna give a good thing i wanna give you everything! everything. a final scream of love she looks beautiful like a child you know what i mean cuz im hurtin nonone....an erazor of love!
This song brings back some odd memories for me due the title lyric & the couple I was briefly friends with at the time who introduced me to it. Long story short I lived in a shared house & the girl from that couple left him for the guy who lived in the room at the top of the house & her abandoned BF has always blamed me for it despite my total innocence. So I always wondered if Matt thought about me whenever he heard the song thereafter & cursing me while listening. Ya know, for him I was the *eraser of* his first *love* despite my being wholly & completely innocent. Anyway, great blast from the past & so thanks for the conflicting memories it induces. 😎
I was getting out of race at this point and I got pulled back in. Best CD I ever had was underworld a shit hit dance all night and disc 2 was the best chill out ever. Needless I loaned it out never to be seen again.
i fucking love this song. and i un-ironically love "hackers". not without its flaws but still a good movie and this is a kickass song. thanks for putting it up. there is a chance it could use a warning for the flashing stuff, though.
Two things about the 90's Best rock music and 1995-1999 best and most creative years for electronic music. Although there is lots of good EM today lost of it is way too polished and doesn't have a raw/dirty feeling like this has. Also people dancing at raves has been replaces with flaylers waving their hands in the air standing still while being sprayed by foam.
I'd say they're still pretty incredible - though I think the decision to bring in outside producers to work over the tracks for "Barking" concealed the incredible songs they once were. The Underworld touch is still there!
Gonna be my closing track for this years NYE Party ....cannot fucking waiting to see how madness prevails once i drop this absolute stomper of a classic track !
Electronica today just cannot hold a flame to the old-school stuff... It's too mass-produced to be any good. This was back before Pro-Tools, Launchpad, Fruity Loops, and auto-tune and all that shit! If you wanted to make techno, you had to have decks and mixers and mix the shit yourself!
Since, of course, Underworld made this using their traditional turntable/ghetto blaster setup, and furthermore this is how they still make tracks today. Yay limitations.
+CK's channel. Just heard this 5 hours ago for the first time and must agree with your analysis of the current 'zeitgeist'! Whatever happened to Glen Miller or even Dexy's for that matter bro? Ecunamatata....! < 33
+CK's channel. Still plenty of great electronic music made today, it's just that it is much less likely to reach the mainsteam, like it did in 90s. Talented people didn't go anywhere, you just gotta dig deeper
"The world is all that is the case" (a caption at the starting of the vid) - this is from Ludwig Wittgenstein's philosophical logic treatise, "Tractatus logico-philosophicus".
This takes me back to a place in my life that I wouldn't be capable of doing any more. Now to see if I can find any 'Sheep on Drugs' videos. /nostalgia

Oh my God, this song live at Hard Haunted Mansion was... omg. I can't even describe it. That's the only time in my life I would have applied "eargasm" to hearing a song. Wowwwww
please someone help, from 6:42 it sounds very similar to another track which has that guitar note in it along with the rock guitar sound, and I've been looking for that song for many years, it was done in the 90's, it had a video with animation in it
The only tracks that came to mind were these by Nine Inch Nails: "Heresy", "The Wretched", and "We're In This Together". I cannot say if these were those tracks. I returned to the song of this video after hearing "Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle, and then revisited "Love is All Around" by "Wet Wet Wet" due to the use of banjo or mandolin, which made me recall "Cowgirl" by Underworld.
Just bought tickets to their show at Sydney opera house in April 2017. Haven't seen them since gatecrasher nec in 2002. Can not wait. As with all posters below, dance music is fucking shit nowadays and isn't in the same league as this stuff. Dance music today with all of its build up build up build up then nothing can fuck off. Like having sex but not coming.
There still around, just no where near as large as they use to be. They where massive in Australia in the 90's / early 2000. The 5-0 came down hard on them here in Australia, been at plenty of them when they charged in shutting the joint down. Back when pills where real MDMA and not crappy speed and bonding compounds.
Is there a high quality DVD compilation of Underworld videos? I would love to have these going on the big screen during parties here at the house. Even with the music playing "quietly" :)
This song is amazing and just sounds like pure bliss in my Tacoma with its 1100 watt sound system that I built... I headed out during lunch yesterday, this song came on my Pandora and I just blasted it. I was so ready for anything during the afternoon in my little cube farm job. Fuck all managers and people farmers...I refuse to truly become one of them. Awesome, just realized I have this song on my phone...Hackers bitches!!
Legendary tracks of 90's... I really miss 90's...
Saw them at Organic 96, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Orbital and the Orb, one of the greatest experiences of my life.
Beyond jealous.
DroogInPhoenix aw man,... that must have been the best... just the peak of raves busting out
Wow, that would have been awesome!! I saw The Orb in Toronto during their 25th anniversary tour, incredible.
DroogInPhoenix super mega jealous!
duuuude.... thats awesome!!!!!

Good old times
I put this in a DJ set last night (between some 242 and VNV) and yes, even today it fills floors. An all-time classic.
Years ago I had this and other videos of thiers on VHS...awesome! I "paid it forward" and gave it to a friend....or do I still have them??? Gotta find them on a DVD.....

used to play this one in my sets back in the day and always LOVED the reaction on the dancefloor - SICK tune
This song brings back memories. I hadn't heard it in year's. Pete Tong played it last night, on one of his mixs. Fantastic tune!
18 years later and still blows away most of the other stuff.
First song I ever heard by Underworld...still my favorite. It was attached to a video showing extremely talented jugglers.
Im from letterkenny n the arsehole of Ireland and this touched me 20 od years. Music goes deep
I still get countless chills when I hear this song, and I must have heard it at least 400 million times.
I had a VHS music assortment in the 80's delivered to me as a a random alternative music video selection and I !oved this song. Glad to have it again on U-Tube.

1warhelion You're welcome.
This is real Tomato Project stuff. Wonderful video, wonderful tune, just perfection.

WOW... one of my favorites. Great find/great post!
never will get old!love this song
I ordered this on vinyl a week ago, should be in my mailbox tomorrow. Hells yeah!
The best of Mtv's AMP and the best recording on RUclips!
This was a definitive track when it came out. Still sounds good today.
Karl usually takes his lyrics from overhears snippets of conversation - in that sense, yes, he's taking the everyday and turning it into indecipherable art.
Been listening to this as long as I can remember. I'm 35 now, since I was like 12 in my dad's car
This was made by Underworld's commercial graphics/video arm, called 'Tomato' if memory recalls.
Tomato is also responsible for most of the sleeve artwork on several Underworld releases.
thanks man appreciate it!! no one could ever convince me bird 1 is not a good tune!!
Best dance track ever laid down....UW..Kin awesome.

i fucking love this song. and i un-ironically love "hackers". not without its flaws but still a good movie and this is a kickass song. thanks for putting it up. there is a chance it could use a warning for the flashing stuff, though.
Many, many, many trips included this song in the arsenal.
Strazman tossing many of my coins in this basket
You can feel this song coiling your body up for the release of energy at 2:02.
when he said "an erazor of love" i really felt that
So amazing. Its unstoppable
Many thanks, a joy once again.
@1975480able glad I was able to take you back there! You and quite few other viewers here belonged to a very special era!

This tune was made in 1993 - way before your 1995-1999!
Zum ersten Mal gehört aufm Sonne/Mond/Sterne an der Bleiloch-Talsperre 2008 unvergessenen. More then a Melody - More then Sound - Pure Soul ...!
I was eight years old when this song came out, reminds me of something that would have been on the game Top Gear
how can a song like this mean some much to one person, but nothing to the next?
Saw Bandulu and underworld at The Famous Glasgow Barrowlands. Life changing. full stop
Awesome song ! Fun memories ...
How times change (not always for the better) but worship those memories. Keep it real people

Gonna be my closing track for this years NYE Party ....cannot fucking waiting to see how madness prevails once i drop this absolute stomper of a classic track !
This song is so nostalgic, it reminds me of the late 90's. I wish they would still make music like this today.
The good ole days. Good times, good friends, and good dreams. To be young again...
man... where has all the good music gone?
me encanta!!!!

This was in the Museum of the Moving Image's exhibit "Spectacle: The Music Video" that just ended today.
Listen to the last faint notes of the incredible "Dirty Epic" - they dovetail straight into this song.
Disco and Funk the roots of Electronic music
This is wicked! But why do I get a strange feeling like I just watched the video from "The Ring"? oh...gotta go, the phone just rang.
