I was in a club that was at it's capacity of about 400 people. All night long some people danced, some sat at tables, some sat at the bar. When this song started up 400 people were on the dance floor. 400 people had their arms in the air. 400 people were jumping as one individual. 400 were singing along. When the song was over, people went back to their tables, their seats at the bar, and some stayed on the floor. GREATEST CLUB MOMENT OF MY LIFE!!!
It's incredible how underworld made that music I'm 20 years old and I never get tired of listening to it I listened to many djs but what underworld did is incredible very good
Too young to dance to this out at the time. Born 1987 but these guys were blasted by my mum and give me so much life in these tunes. It's king of snake, rez, jumbo, skyscraper and I'm scottish, pride in Trainspotting so Dark Long Train and Born Slippy! Pear's Girl - two months off. Fuck me it just goes on and on. Wish id been there properly in the 90s but ive just seen them in manchester and in their 60s, they were unreal as expected! Gonna go to bilbao and see them again!
After so many years i still got goosebumps when i listen to so many Underworld Tracks. Going straight to my 53st birthday next time. And i hope the next 50 years i will still have that feeling when i listening to Underworld !!!
*This* show specifically. The recording from this specific show. It captured everything at some insanely chaotic moments and continues to lives in magic in my soul. TYSVM for posting this.
Total vibes! So lucky to have seen them live so many times in the 90s …epic tunes, visuals, joy, heartfelt smiles and connection in the crowd dancing in ecstasy. I will never forget my whole life!
Underworld rulez. 90's rule. Enthusiastic, well made music that gets inside you, massages you gently from inside out and resonates with your spirit of freedom - that's something timeless. May this world have more phenomena like this music and people like its composers!
Let's be honest here....I'm old lol...but seen alot of djs/bands....alot of gigs/clubs blah fukn blah but it was pure and great in the 90's early 2000. Turntables...mic....original sound. Even chart hits was original. Right from scratch
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Einzigartig mega elektronische Musik vom aller aller feinsten. Es gibt nichts Vergleichbares. Der Wahnsinn....... einfach unvergleichlich unvergleichlich.
What an incredible piece of electronic music art perfectly performed live excellent work here by Underworld an amazing band who has been always there for us for so many years still remains always relevant and timeless.....🚬💊💉📀💿⛔🎱🎶🎵🇬🇷♿🤍......!!!!!!
So glad that was my time, beautiful inventive dance music...hard to believe it would end in Euro pop/Swedish House Mafia...each to their own i suppose 😂
If you can keep the bass sample in the background as soft as possible, you can end your ambient mix with Cowgirl. Not sure how those 303's would play dubbed down though :)
I remember when I went looking for this at a local music store. I ask the young salesman and he said, you mean the movie Underworld? I said know the musicians and he looked at me strange. I was 51 when I first heard this...so EPIC!
I remember stumbling upon this while channel hopping late one night and it was playing on 4 music (yup I'm that old) it just blew me away I'm also old enough to have bought the soundtrack to the movie hackers that features a shorter more pedestrian version of this
I was talking about something else entirely; and said "everything everything" for some reason. I've been here ever since :) What an absolutely brilliant band they were.
even as a rock metal fan I can relate to people being in the same place at the same thing - it is euphoria mixed with an almost near death experience. people who have never done it will never get it or understand it when you try to explain it.
late 1990s, near the end of the global rave scene, underworld mashed together two of their biggest hits, "rez" and "cowgirl", and created this crowning piece of electronic music of that era. i feel it expresses a joy, hope and enthusiasm that was felt just before the dawn of the second millennium, when things became introverted, selfish and superficial.
we all have wives / husbands now... regular jobs... taxes... even kids... but this spirit is still somewhere inside... hail to my generation ...

This song works as a crowd-starter and as an ambient-track to chill to. That's quite an accomplishment to say the least!
