Your initial recording was in “phone” mode (switch to red) which cut the mic and switches to recording through vibrations. Hence the labeling “as a call” and the subpar quality when recording over air as opposed to an actual call (vibrations from the phone call). Correct me if I’m wrong here.
It labeled it a call because the slider was on the red side which is for calls. That also gives you inferior sounding audio. If you toggle the slide the other way it will label it as a note and the audio will be much more crisp
@@adamstevens387 of course, but thats not the point. Apps are designed for virtual calls, this is designed ror a) virtual b) cell c) face to face meetings d) voice notes. It is much easier than Otter or Fathom for example - its just easier to use overall Ive found
Thanks for the well-done review. I think you can do the same things with the Google Pixel 9's built-in recorder app, except for the mind map, just not as elegantly. The price of the Plaud has gone up from $99 to $159 in the past year, and you'll need to buy into an annual subscription with Plaud if you use it's Note device regularly.
Did you test this in other real-world scenarios? Such as different room environments. What about those who have accents? How well is the translation then? This review is about as useful as someone reviewing a set of tires, kicking them, saying yep it's a buy. At the end of the video, I was no closer to deciding whether to buy or not.
It's nice to see someone with Parkinson's making such high quality videos. Normally that much handwaving is distracting but it didn't bother me at all.
In English: I don’t recommend it. They charge a monthly membership fee and additionally charge you per minute. It’s very expensive. It’s a scam! En Español: No lo recomiendo. Te cobran una membresía mensual y, además, te cobran por cada minuto. Es muy costoso. ¡Es un engaño!

Did you test it in a bigger room like a lecture hall in University? How far away can the speaker be to get a clear result?
Yeah, anyone did that?
i'd like to know as well
Surely there's an app that can do all of this?

yes, I just downloaded the free Otter-ai app at it seems to do all the same stuff. Very useful!!
I love how they say “ I got it for free, but don’t worry I won’t lie about it trust me. “
Then dont listen. Thats your option.

I couldnt care less about the AI transcript features. All I want is a reliable way to record phone calls. How good is it for that ?
But can it give you summaries of a series of meetings?

Can the notes be printed?
copy paste to Word. Print.
How can I record a Zoom meeting where I am listening through earbuds? I have to use earbuds in the office setting.
I'm not sure, but I read somewhere that it only works if you're not talking through Bluetooth

Would've been good to see how it performed when recording a call
Is is supporting different languages?
Thanks for the useful video, I have a question, if I'm not able to pay the monthly fees, will it work also or no?
I think you get 300 mins per month free

It is possibile teaching Plaude to learn specific names or word by my voice ?
I think it is possible to do that provided the model is custom trained...some smart prompt engineering could help.
Do they have this for android
@@keithmerrill4058 ??
@@keithmerrill4058 yep, it works on either platform
Would it recognise different voices in a conference call? The test shown was very very basic...
Hey! Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to discuss it if you’re interested
Unfortunately apples voice recorder app can now do this.
You didn't read the quick guide, that's why.
