I've been a lot busier this month in comparison to the start of 2024, so I wanted to go through all ofmy makes together! There were a couple flops but mainly lots of great projects which I was able to reflect on really productively. I'm hoping to keep this up throughout the year to hopefully be as intentional as I can be with my projects 💖

It's so heartbreaking to hear you say that you're embarrassed to wear your creations 😢 the vest with the bows is so beautiful and unique! You should just go for it!! My favourite piece this month was the flower vest for valentines day ❤

AGREED!!! Aver, I also don't think that you need to worry about your clothing looking handmade- cause they look really professional. They look professional not just because your skills are so refined but because you put a lot of effort into finishing them in a way that makes them look high class (such as blocking, weaving, perfect ribbing etc.) The last vest TOTALLY looks like an first hand, high range garment. You can totally show off and brag about your hand made goods without fear or embarrassment. But I also do understand where your coming from- when I wear something I make I always scrutinize the flaws and think the tiny mistakes (that usually aren't even mistakes) are gonna be so obvious to other people.

You need some moxi girl. When I was in high school, about 48 years ago, my mother made me a granny square sweater. I wore it to school. Some of the kids had rude comments. They weren't friends of mine, so I ignored it. I made sure I wore that sweater once a week during the cold months. You have to let them know you don't care what they think. Now, I crochet garments for my oldest daughter who loves my pieces. She even has people ask if I could make them one. I don't sell anything, as my old hands just can't mass produce. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the reaction you really get, and not the one made up in your head.

I get the same with wearing my own knitted projects lol. Validating to hear I’m not alone, but it’s definitely just in our head 😅 the vest Is stunning

I used to be so nervous about wearing my hand knitting out! The more you do it and the older you get the easier it is ❤

I am always worried to wear my own stuff as well but whenever I do I get compliments and it’s so amazing to be able to say I made this myself! I hope you get more confident to wear your pieces in time 😊

Your hooded scarves and three vests are all gorgeous! ❤ In February, I made 5 crochet roses (pattern/tutorial by Brunaticality) for my cubicle at work, a crochet Flork (pattern by EasyAnimalPattern) for my husband, a crochet duck (pattern by Lauren Espy of A Menagerie of Stitches), a Tudor Roses crochet vest (based on the pattern/tutorial by Old English Creations), and a Sparkling Stars crochet top based on the pattern by Sparkling Stars pattern by TLH patterns.

Did you think of the flower pattern on your own for the vest? If it’s available, I’d love to know where you got it from.
