Awesome song selection my Asian brother. No doubt you’re tackling the complicated style of MJH for the challenge of just playing like him. Much respect. Would’ve made him smile to hear this.

Utterly amazingly smooth and accurate, been trying to learn it but can't find decent tabs to learn from as I've only been leaning for a couple of years, do you know where i could find them please.
    Many thanks

Your right hand in particular is pretty amazing. It looks like you pick with every finger. Of course your left hand is great too. This isn’t my favorite musical genre but still, I could listen all day long. I played classical guitar for many years before returning to college and then I literally didn’t have time, but unfortunately I just couldn’t get myself to play again after graduating.

Very nice, and interesting muting technique. You rest the palm of the right hand just after plucking the bass note with the thumb?

Excellent and brilliant playing. Please may I add that I don’t think that is Candyman. I’ve heard several versions of Candyman ((Stefan Grossman, Rev Gary Davis, Ralph McTell etc) and they are not the same as this. Just a small point, not to distract from your excellent musianship.

Chet laid the groundwork for countless artists while also bringing countless performers to the front using his connections. We probably wouldn't have had Jerry Reed recordings if it weren't for Chet and Jerry was amazingly unique.

I'm going to tell you how to play this tune exactly like John Hurt did it .. and you will be amazed
how very easy it is to play ...you have left out all the little bits because their very very hard to do
and you play it as it came in the book of tablature.. and that is crap and though you don't want to
you become what that book shows. So how do you play this tune right? just like old John ..
first get a capo(clamp type), then second tune down one half step..nothing hard so far, aye!
the next step place capo on finger board at 2nd fret ensure the open end is facing you as you
look at it..check the tuning is OK!... now play the turn around of song exactly like you did here.
your thinking it don't sound the same why is that ? I know I'll move the capo and let's see
leave the 6th string open...thats better 6xxxxx the x is the capo at 2nd fret.
    next do a G7 chord relative to the capo...strum? ?? now a D7 chord
    and that is Candyman...
So what you have is a drop D and a standard tuning all at the same time.
very cleaver of Mississippi John and thats how he played the tune always
he used a notched capo for this tune. and now you know as well hope you have
fun figuring out all the little fun bits of this tune like I did. don't rely on books use
your ears as well. So if "it'' don't quite sound right think "why? maybe a capo trick.
there are plenty of songs that use this trick you will be surprised yeah lot's.
me I keep finding them... hope this helps you to become a better musician.
    P.S.
singing the impossible lyric is now easypeasy as well
yeah Mr Grossman went out of his way to make this
tune as fingerbusting hard as hell to play just nasty
nasty..yeah he knew how to play it like John Hurt
but chose not to tell as John gave loads of hints
    but no one was listening.
