I'm searching through duck breeds right now, and Call ducks look like a great breed, but I have to find something our HOA won't notice ;-; these definitely don't hit that mark. Thanks for posting the vid, you have some lovely ducks!
@Taan Fam Private Acc Gosh they’re so cute 😍 Thanks for replying! Sadly I’m not in the position where I can have ducks just for the sake of ducks 😔 they need to be producing something to be worthwhile, whether that be meat or eggs.
@jessjones I am leaning toward Muscovys if I end up getting any. I actually have a little experience with them! My family got a few from a friend, it was last minute and we weren’t prepared quite as much as we should’ve been… long story short it went downhill and some of them got out, and now the local lake has its own colony of Muscovy ducks 😂😂😂 I hear about them now and then and chuckle because I know their origin story 😬 This was several years ago though and I do not think we’ll be repeating the same mistakes 😉😅
I really want call ducks but as you said they’re very loud and I think my neighbors would complain because we do have a HOA. I also have chickens, do you think I could keep a couple males with my chickens or would they try to breed with them?
I have a pond in my neighborhood and there's some ducks and I wanted to see if it would get them to run to me. Spoiler, I think they will, we'll never know
@@AllysAnimalAntics I own quite a few as well, and they are gorgeous, little fast quacker's. 🦆 🙂 My breed preference's i would deal with are the 1. White 2. Gray 3. Snowy and 4. Chocolate! I also like all 4 of them with a crest as well, but i haven't seen a chocolate with a crest yet. My main limit on them would be at least 2 male's and 2 female's of each breed which includes the 4 breeds i mentioned being crested as well! If you or someone you know is selling chocolate call's or the other call's being crested..... well i would put my email or number on here for you to message me but youtube blocks it argh! 😠 🙄 Also introvert in response to your comment i have no idea if they have any sold in india, but if you come to america for vacation temporarily and wanna get you call ducks, that might make it easier for you! That way you can return to india with them when flying back. There's a few people here i know that can for sure sell you some so do what you can do! 👍
Yep , females are loud when they quack and call. They don't do it all the time, but when they do quack that's what they sound like. Males are really quiet though.
@@user-cy5lf5cd9p They are really noisy in the morning and during the mating season they quack and call a lot . But when the sun is shining and they are full of food they are quieter. If you just want call ducks as pets and not for the eggs I'd personally go for a group of males as they are much much quieter, and as long as you don't have females they will get along pretty well . I know lots of people that keep a load of drakes together in a bachelor group.
Your ducks are gorgeous!! I have plans to get 2 males in the near future, but I’m worried about the noise they make. Do you have any other video of males making noise? Thanks in advance 😊

Try muscovy ducks! They just kind hiss. A nearby neighbor had about 20 of them and I've never heard a peep.
Mandarin ducks. They aren't all that noisy except when they squeak and chirp like a toy...

The ducks probably would pester your chickens a little but wouldn't do any real damage . The chickens may injure the ducks though.
Male ducks often kill female chickens because their genitalia is completely different but they try anyway.
