  • Tom Paxton wrote a lot of "talking blues" type of songs over the years, but only a handful of them were released on albums. This song is one of the unreleased.
    "Talking Death of God Blues" was published on Broadside Magazine issue #74 along with "Talking Pop Art". Two of the most important folk songs of the 60's, Pete Seeger's "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy" and Phil Ochs' "Crucifixion", were also published on this issue of the magazine.

    Nice find. I’ve never heard this one. I am assuming you lifted this from a WBAI (NYC) broadcast?

      I think it's from a WBAI tape, yes. It's labeled "WBAI Benefit Concert - Tom Paxton & Patrick Sky"
