iIM A BIKER .ALWAYS BEEN SO APART FROM WHEN I WAS A HIPPY BACK IN THE MISTS OF TIME ,BUT YEH I ALWAYS LOVED THE MUSIC AND STYLE OF THE SKINS ,,,,, OLD BLOKE 70 YEARS TODAT
I was a liverpool skin 69 remember trying to take the north bank at Arsenal the hardest end to take first time I saw Johnny Hoy respect to Johnny 1969 a skinhead dream
Wicked tune, nice video man. The track really captures the spirit of 69. Alot of the images you used are from photographer Gavin Watson ( ie post 1980) but still, god vibe.
Just kinda stumbled on your conversation...... you need attitude in this world and good for you fortunate to have a job. And it dont matter what skin your in as long as you are.!!
This is the workingclass spirit!! WORKERS OF THE WORLD - UNITE. I love this feeling i get, when i hear this music. The feeling of unity, proud of who i am, brotherhood, and respect to eachother! SKA, SKA, SKA!!! Long Live The Anti-Fascist Skinheads and punks!
Way before my time! Nothing wrong with OI! That's how we use to call each other. Then again what do I know there were no rules, race, some people had their thoughts on the subject, but nothing in stone. The one thing was about fighting for the working man, some Anarchist, some all about who gives a F*&^K. Rudies, and Skins, and Punks. This was the first music that I know was around back in 77. I was young then, never saw Nazi boneheads until late 80's, but again that's in Philly. There are old school, older then me, that can give you a history lesson. I just had fun F IT! South Street Philly Skins OI OI OI!
@marcus brown There's some truth in that but it's not the whole story. Roddy Moreno, one of the main UK "voices" of Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) was in an Oi band called The Oppressed. He had also been an original skin in the late 1960s (albeit a young one of around 12/13 years of age).
When I got married 1987 me my best and and 3 others all dressed to impress skinhead wise all suited and booted ,my uncle said he'd do the wedding car ( roller ) turned up early so him and 5 skins went for a drive ,,,,,,,,,had some amazing looks from the humans
Who is singing this song. It is not Eugene Paul as the 45 and Version on Straighten Up Vol 2 on Pama are much slower with no brass. Great version. Anyone know who this is
Michael Clarkson Hi. it's a group called the Jubilees, from an album called groovin reggae. They also released some 45's under the name The Jamaican Jubilee Stompers.
I don't know what I am class-wise. My father was an office worker and my mother worked in a factory. I've worked in jobs ranging from labourer to drug and alcohol counsellor. I have a social work diploma but have never been a social worker. I guess I'm loosely a "skinhead" (though I prefer the term rude boy) as I have a shaved head and wear some items of skinhead clothing. Have loved ska and reggae since 1980 when I was 14.
@rudeboylikesviolence well I think even more nowadays they know what looking like a skinhead is going to make people think...whatever kind of skinhead you are, you will always look lilke the racist ones untill you start having other nationalities in your skinhead groups...which Ive yet to see....not I did go to a small concert in san diego years ago from a well known skinhead type of music and the crowd were almost all skins, and almost the whole band were all black, and there wasn't any trouble
@mcxznbv right on, the older I get, the more I realize the only thing you have the right to be proud of is whether you take advantage of the oppertunities presented. Lots of kids who parents aren't dirt poor are ashamed, and go out trying to prove that they don't need anyone/thing. Once they realize they can, they are too old to do anything. So your parents, grandparents worked to help you, it is only respectful that you accept it, and use it to help others in need. quote:.../watch?v=QqGQJBqsu24
Skin'eads 'ave gone the way of mods & punks.Just a minority of die'ards still at it coz they won't or can't change t' summat decent, but on the other 'and,Teds & Hells angels are still goin' strong & are both worldwide not like skins. So,wot does that tell ya? I rest my case, rockabilly is the best style t' follow coz it LIVES ON an' int dead yet!! Everybody thinks Angels like 'eavy music, but when I was with 'em,a lot liked rockabilly & rock 'n' roll.
Johnny3968 l think the problem is that boneheads completely ruined the original skinhead scene with their shit.Reds did the same later,SHARP tried to returned the subculture back to its roots...sadly,all these divisions weakened the scene and original skinhead culture mostly lingers on in the memories now.Today most people exclusively connect an image of a dumb, media created nazi bonehead with skinhead culture as a whole. And that's really fucked up.
Nice old pictures.ska greetings from germany😊❤

So do I after seeing some of the original footage from the late 1960s! There was a kind of understated beauty about them.
i wish i was born in england in 1952 so i would be 17 in 1969 and be one of the original skins before racism was even associated with us.

It must be a real pain in the ass to replace all the H's in your sentences with apostrophes just to affect some kind of British accent on RUclips.
I'm not affectin' an accent I am English!!
Johnny3968 English people don't use the letter H?
Michael Bury fock it boy ima londoner

lets NOT dance with nazis though!
"Skinhead" Reggae? Hardly a skin in sight!!! Too bad. But then, most skins have better taste in music.
Boots and Braces by Skrewdriver is Still one of my favourite songs !
@sm vanwers
I take it you're an Oi boy?
Could somebody teach me what boss sound is??
What is the difference btw boss and skinhead? the same?
I consider them the same
the term boss cam from roy ellis and symarip on the first ever skinhead album called skinhead moonstomp in which he calls himself the Boss Caleb
@@TheStick666 Got that album. Brilliant. Remember hanging around with the squaddies from our local barracks at the dance hall listening to they music,
They both basically refer to early reggae from the 1968-72 era (before reggae evolved into the slower, heavier sound known as roots reggae).
what's the name of the song?
Eugene Paul - Farewell My Darling
Not Eugene Paul, It was The Jubilees
