man high school football down there is insane, up here in long island new york, the really only big high school teams last season are shoreham wading river newfield sayville, they were county champs, allen down in texas is one big program

can someone explain the difference between 4a and 5a and the divisions?
student enrollment
In Texas there's 5 classifications: 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, and 5a. Each classification is based on the schools entire enrollment with 1a having the smallest schools in the state and 5a the biggest. The divisions comes from there being just too many schools. At least in 4a and 5a, in every district there's four teams that go to the playoffs, and UIL places the two schools with the bigger student enrollment population in division one and the lower two schools in division two.
