I think Aussies are just so used to them that they hardly notice them. I remember watching behind-the-scenes interviews from Crocodile Dundee in which Linda Kozlowski said one of the hardest parts of doing the Australia scenes was dealing with the flies.

lego vs. basically any large amount of force will just shatter like glass i think. it's not held together by much, so while the bricks themselves are strong enough to escape unscathed, the cube will not, spreading legos everywhere (another reason the bricks won't be damaged is obviously them flying everywhere, if the cube held, the individual legos would take more damage.)

Has anyone ever actually done the math on how much energy Clayton has when he hits the ground?
I thought I would take the liberty, so I figured Clayton probably hits the ground with about 44kJ of energy. That's about equivalent to being punched in the face with a small car.

I started with calculating the amount of kinetic energy it has when it hits the ground using the equation E=½mv^2, where E=kinetic energy (J), m=mass (kg) and v=velocity (m/s). We know from previous videos that the mass is 100kg, but we need to determine the velocity.
In order to do that we need to use the equation V(final)^2=V(initial)^2+2ad, where a is acceleration and d is distance traveled. we know the hammer started from rest, so initial velocity squared is zero. I took the liberty of using the full value of gravitational acceleration in a vacuum because I feel like an object as dense as this and with low surface area would only be minimally affected by air resistance at this height. So, 9.81m/s^2 is the acceleration (due to gravity) and the distance we know is 45m, therefore: Vf^2=0^2+2(9.81)(45)
Vf^2=882.9
(square root) Vf=29.714m/s or about 107km/h which sounds reasonable to me.
Now we can add that into our energy equation: E=½(100)(29.714)^2 and we get E=44146 Joules, or 44.146kJ.
Now what does that compare to? Well I tried a few things, the default comparison is to TNT, but that's actually a pretty disappointing result. TNT is used for a reason and that's because of its incredible ability to release a lot of energy really quickly, and so this amount of energy is only equivalent to about 10 grams of TNT.
I thought about comparing it to getting hit by a truck, but a 3 tonne truck is so heavy that to reach an equivalent amount of energy it would not need to move very fast, only about 6km/h, so I took a different approach; I did the math from the other way and started with a set velocity -like a punch in the face. A quick google search showed that the average punch speed is about 9.14m/s. So again based on the equation E=½mv^2, for an object traveling at 9.14m/s to be carrying 44kJ of energy it would have to weigh 1057kg which is somewhere between a smart car and a Honda Civic.
