Well the slow mo guys are quite difficult to get ahold of since it's their hobby and not their full time job. They have their own lives, with Gav living in the US while Dan is staying in the UK. They record in bulk at a certain point in the year and release the footage slowly throughout. Long story short, they are very difficult to get ahold of because of their lifestyles.
This has always been my thought too! A video with How Ridiculous and Slow Mo Guys would be EPIC!

Yes adding a heavier tip will shift the center of gravity towards the tip making it sway less. I am guessing they underestimated how heavy the fins would be.

You guys should have had a weight put inside near the tip. It keeps falling sideways because of the fins are making it top heavy.

@@philb5593 it is solid. So the center of gravity should be the center of the pole, but the fins shift the center of gravity to the rear of the pole. OP is right, they should add a weighted tip if they want it to fall straight down

A general mix takes a month to come up to 2000 psi without additives and it takes 99 years to come up to full hardness. I'd be really impressed if they could have found an older block of it. I doubt the dart could have done as much damage other than to get bent.

Engineer here. Probably not the case. For stable rocket design, there is the "center of gravity" (balance point), and the "center of pressure" (middle of the area of an object). You want the center of gravity in front of the center of pressure. This is typically achieved by putting a lot of "area" on the back end with large, light weight flaps (fins) that pull back the center of pressure without impacting the center of mass very much. Those fins are pretty big and I'm guessing achieve this scenario. I'm guessing the dart does not have enough time to stabilize, or the fins are not even.
@@gregistopal I think the large fins are what is causing it actually. When the wind is blowing it catches the fins and tilts it. That's why it always tilts the same way and spinning it doesn't help. Increasing the weight of the tip and decreasing the size of the fins might help minimize the wind's effect while maintaining its tendency to point the right way. Maybe.

Concrete by itself isn’t as strong as what many people think it is. It needs rebar reinforcement inside of it to be strong.
