100 Kickflips In The Emerica Romero Laced Shoes

- We decided to give our staff a break this week and hand the 100 Kickflip Challenge over to a pro. Leo Romero paid a visit to the CCS office last week and we talked him in to giving us 100 kickflips in a brand new pair of his Romero Laced Shoes from Emerica. It turns out there’s a reason he’s got his name on a board. Leo did 100 kickflips in a row with out stopping or stepping off his board once. He didn’t want to break his momentum until he hit 100 and because of that, we had a microphone malfunction in the process. As you can clearly see, the shoes did great, but sadly we don’t have audio commentary on the end result. We speculated as to what was said though, and probably nailed it. i had the black romeros, then i bought the nikes cory kennedy pro model and now just got the blue romeros

Emerica greatly stepped up the quality of this shoe over the years and Nike SB tanked in the quality of the Janoski around 2012.
Now I want this shoe. I always thought they were really thin and ripped easy. I've always loved Emerica. One of the best shoe companies ever. Definitely copping a pair now.

Its really amazing to me, how pros do their kickflips. Looks like a fucking machine. His flick foot does the same motion, every try. That muscle memory is real.

I can honestly say that these are the best shoes I have ever skated. They last a super long time and perform really well. Although, the best part is probably how inexpensive they are for how great they are.
get a half size smaller , put the laces out , put the g6 insoles in and there you have the best shoes

I tried these IRL and they feel amazing. Noticeable cushioning and a lot of board feel compared to Vans. I’m going to stick to emerica now! :)

Wow just crazy! I just bought a pair yesterday for like 20 bucks!Cause i casually stopped by zumies and saw them on clearance..as sooon as i layed my eyes on them i said “these look like straight 🔥fire!” But thought they felt a bit flimsy! And yet the feedback im now seeing on them is great! Cant wait to give these a try and hopefully buy more!

If anyone is wondering if they should buy this shoe... Do it. I bought these yestarday at my local shop and they are the bomb.
My only complaint is the heel-lock.
Going half a size down helps, but then the shoe is just a tad too snug for me - hurts my Achilles' tendon.

skated mine for like 3 months, the kickflip mark is almost touching the floor. the soles also wore all the way through on my front foot, but the board feel is amazing! currently skating the hsu's and they seem to hold up way better

Just got my all black Romeros from CCS
I love this
Laces are set low so rips easily and the bottom is thin so you'll get a hole on the bottom of the shoe quickly, unless you skate park more than street.
If you're wondering what skatepark they went to it's ed Benedict in portland Oregon and I'm super happy bc some pro skater went to my fav park and first park
I had a pair they lasted a long time but I will never get them again since the stitching gets destroyed lol great shoe though

I feel like your shoes would be super loose and it would be super hard to skate if you didn't have laces.
Alec Denby on most skate shoes the toungue is stitched on, kind of like a slip on shoe. its not that bad
Skate a smaller size shoe and it should fir like a glove

I just got these.kickfliped first try and only missed one in 20
so how does this differ from the figueroa? cupsole and this vulc otherwise same shoe?
+Skankwave not even, they're both cupsoles. the leo has 4 lace holes and the figgy one has 3. that's really about it.

damn thanks for the info. Guess they just wanna have variety and get everyones name on a shoe without innovating too much. I cant even wear figgys without laces, feels like shit tbh even though its a snug size. He prolly took the laces off cause they would have ripped and thats never good marketing
+Skankwave biggest differences are the liner and padding. laced is as basic as it gets in terms of padding and protection and fit. the figgy has an internal bootie so it holds better, it has more padding around the ankle to soften it up, and the impact padding is a little thicker. basically its for dudes that like the thin aesthetic of the laced but want to beef it up a little more. personally i like the laced more overall since i don't pull morning to dusk skate missions regularly but on the days i do, id rather wear figgys just cause i won't hurt the next morning.

The Figueroa is the best shoe Emerica has ever made. In the history of Emerica, or SoleTech for that matter.
Alan Flores na I had 4 pairs and the Leo by far holds up better. The figgy shoe blows out quick
the only thing i didnt like a bout the Figueroa is the mesh collar around the ankle and Achilles that blows out quick but other than that they skate amazing and last long
Agreed but the herman g codes were sick too. Figgys shoe is based off the romero. But figgy by far is worthy of his shoe. The wino series is good if your super broke n wanna drop 50 for a shoe. All in all emerica is the best company ever.

Looks like you guys filmed the last part after 20. I love Leo but I cant trust a 100 kickflip test done by a pro with his own shoe, and he didnt stop to show us the 20, 40, 60, 80 marks either. Hella sus lol

It is a real test and I swear I did more than 100 kickflips and this shoe took all of them without any damage. But! The heel support of laced isn't good as cover of shoe. My ankle need more support so I use now Reynolds shoe. They are super comfy and takes impact good as well . Choose Emerica guys!
