    Brahms--ever so sublime. I have really gotten into piano trios, quartets, and quintets the last few years. There is so much more richness than I ever thought there could be. At times, some piano quintets feel like a full orchestra. It's delightfully deceptive.

    Lugansky hits that last low C as if it’s the hammer of fate. Superbly percussive.

      @@jsj1639Technically it’s the penultimate base note before the final F, so yes it is a low C.

    Very good interpretation of Brahms piano quintet. The pianist is a great player. I love this piece.

    翌日に銀座ヤマハへ楽譜を購入しに行った
    私はドイツロマン派の曲が苦手だった
    プレヴィンはベーゼンドルファーを良く鳴らした
    優れた演奏で聴かないと、曲を下らないと思い込む

    I've always loved this piece---with the exception of the slow movement, which is one of the dullest things Brahms ever wrote. Wonderful performance though...

      I get what you mean, but disagree, it's almost as if you are invalidating the slow movement, which does deserve repeated listening. I love it.

    The second movement is too fast. It loses all interest, sounds rushed.
