Just got back from a 4 day quilt retreat. Worked on 2 wall hanging and multitudes of little things. We all brought food and snacks. Wonderful to get away and just sew.

I just ran across this series of your videos and I’ll have to go back and wash all the old ones. When I’m doing? I spent a solid week putting flowers for the porch in the yard and making a new hosta bed and now I’m pulling up bricks from an old patio and I’m going to lay a new patio off of my deck. I do believe I’m gonna get help from some young men in the neighborhood that need the money. I’m teaching them how to conduct business by giving an estimate, writing up a contract, with all the parts included. Also, they need to decide what they will provide versus what I will provide with the time schedule and what they expect of me. This is the first job and their dad finally had to get involved. I told him they are apprentices at this point and I know if they want to do their own work and getting their own business but they have to do it right if they’re going to compete with the professionals. I am hoping they will write contract under his business so that I get them bonded and insured. I digress. You asked. But you’re sorry. L O L. Love your fabrics!

Love spending my Saturday with you! Love your dress! I’m cleaning and reorganizing my sewing room. I’m using your Jelly Sticks pattern to make a quilt for my bed. I’m using Buttercup and Slate fabric. This week I will be planting my vegetable garden. 😊

I am in fact gardening -- finally! -- and after just 2 weeks, I have seeds sprouting all over. I'm doing a lot of "firsts" in my garden plot this year. I'm also working on finishing up all of my WIPs before I start anything new. It's rough but I am committed to doing it this year. I'm hoping to finish my Doug Leko #ChatsworthBOM top this weekend. I am making mine a little smaller than Doug's pattern (8 blocks instead of 12) because I have started quilting my quilts myself! Yes!!! Finallly after 10 years of trying i am quilting in the hoop on my embroidery machine (bought specifically to quilt on it not to do embroidery) And that also means I am FINALLY going to finish my Scrappy Irish Chain quilt. I did mine smaller also (12 blocks instead of the huge size) in a rainbow ombre with the backgrounds on the large negative space blocks in "Abundance" in Slate from your Buttercup & Slate line--I got a whole bolt of that fabric specifically for use as a background because it's such a great low volume. I like it better than the Beautiful Day rose (*gasp* hard to believe I know!) My plan for the Blocks B is to use the "Mint Julep" Irish Chain Block quilting motif from Urban Elementz (yes they make block motifs specifically for Irish Chain quilts!!) on my embroidery machine and then I want to put a circle with a crosshatch in the centers. Since there are only 6 of those Blocks B I hope I can do this without too much trouble. Which brings me full circle to the garden, a nice break from the quilting when I need to go be destructive I can pull weeds--there are new weeds to pull daily, thank you Lord for that stress reliever renewed each morning (like a Lam 3:19 mercy HAHA)
Yay for gardening! I never did get any seeds in...although it's not too late!

The butterfly block is super adorable. I have to admit I am trying my best at tackling my WIPS. I can't believe how many I have that are almost done. Perhaps assembling my blocks together is my struggle because I'm anxious to start on something new. Regardless, I am on a mission to get done and quilted. Thanks for your amazing positive video.
I get anxious for the next project the closer I get to finishing one. =)

I wish you would do a video on your creative process. From the moment something pops into your mind, to pulling fabrics, how you figure the design with the fabrics to putting a pattern together, then the finished quilt or quilt top. I would love to see the whole thing start to finish! ❤

I tried to find the fabric a year ago and couldn’t find any, so I haven’t started my scrappy Irish chain yet. I love your dress, you look so cute.
It's become pretty hard to find!...I've had a sketchy sort of print in a number of my fabric lines now--I love designing them because they work so nicely for those backgrounds. There's one in Buttercup & Slate that is also a nice replacement for the Beautiful Day one.

Thank you for the scrappy blocks!! I am working on 4 quilt WIPs and several cross stitch projects. I love to garden so will be planting soon. The weather in Southern Lancaster County, PA has been unpredictable so I wait till Mother's Day for planting. Sadly, there are plenty of weeds to pull first!

I am still working! But to be honest I was doing it as leaders and Enders! I had a whole bin of the mini charms so I had minimal cutting time! I am getting close to finishing it though, I have all the blocks with white and 3 of the all square blocks completed.

Working on a scrappy Irish chain, using my leaders and Enders.
It's a great leader/ender project!
I am working on several projects and today I went Shop Hopping to find some background, border, and backing fabrics needed for projects either in progress now or coming soon. Tomorrow I plan to quilt, bind and label one for my husband while he is out fishing.

@@CorianderQuilts no, I didn’t, and I’ve been watching grandbabies, overseeing contractors, shop hopping with a friend, and helping my son pack and clean his house for a move this week. Next Monday we get a new 15 month puppy, more grandbaby watching, and then I’m going to a retreat. I might not get anything done there, but it should be a break, lol
