I believe Poet's perspectives on relationships is shaped from trauma of course, but also the privilege of having such a wide community of friends that fill voids that most seek out in romantic relationships. If he didn't have that privilege, his reactions to being numb with the opposite gender would differ. Obvs Chuckie has loads of friends too but he's a lover boy, so it would differ. Love you guys :)

Chuckie is also manipulative because he won’t wife her but will have strong feelings and communicate clearly and not get the kindness answer and stay.
Poet needs to go therapy and unpack all his demons or he will end up dying alone and full of regrets. The truth of a lot of men is we are so good at hiding trauma we indirectly hurt people around us and hide the pain with laughs and jokes it’s so unhealthy.

Love you guys (pause), love this pod, but I can’t lie, I’m 10 minutes in and through everything that’s been said can only hear two man that are only just short of 40 sugar coating the fact that they don’t want to tie down one woman and want to hide behind excuses.
Honestly this is what I always feel when I hear their relationship conversations. Even the one where poet was discussing why he wouldn’t get married sounded weird

I feel the answers that they’d give would stem from something that happened a long time ago, maybe from when they were teenagers in fact, but it shouldn’t take up to the age of 40 to get over it - depends what it is mind.
