The Revolut card sounds like a good option. Good to see someone doing a comprehensive audit. Yeah pretty good. You can't put a price on the memories and sights though, they'll last a lifetime - Good trip.
Yes, Revolut worked very well. Been using it for a couple of year now and defiantly works out the cheapest with the best deals and perks as well. Figures don't lie though and some of the totals really surprised us! ATB, Steve & Margot
Great data 🤓. I did a similar study after returning from France for three weeks this summer, just to get a feel for the costs. Then to make myself feel better, I considered the fuel, groceries, kids’ activities we would have paid for at home in those three weeks so I could understand the incremental cost of being on holiday. I reckon you did a very good job of keeping costs down!
That's a great idea to do a 'home' comparison. There were some places we could of stayed for months and it would of be ridiculously cheap! £7.30/night including electric in a proper campsite, walking distance to town as well.... For us it was that massive cost on food that shocked us 😱 Great channel name by the way... ATB, Steve & Margot
Great breakdown. The Revolute Card looks a good idea, and I looked at it for our holiday to the Caribbean, but unfortunately, it only seems to do major currencies and not every currency that you hinted at.
Thank you Simon. We only really travel to South Africa, Australia and Europe and have always used Revolut there. As for the Caribbean, maybe not local currency, but maybe exchange for US dollars. They would except them. But definitely very good in Europe 👍 ATB, Steve & Margot
Hi Mark Thank you for watching. Yes, food cost seems to be a world wide problem and really surprised us too. We are currently in South Africa and its the same here. Everything has gone up massively..!
Thanks, excellent info, I've always wondered about this. Gives me more confidence to tackle a long trip. I wonder if you could do an update and take away your normal grocery cost in this country. I understand this will vary from person to person but you've got to eat here!
Thank you Glyn, We are looking at various other comparisons to give even more of a rounded view. In the UK our grocery cost are pretty constant as we tend to be parked up in the same place all the time. ATB, Steve & Margot
Hello, after watching your videos I would like to thank you for all the advice and for speaking gently, I am French sorry, I like traveling to Spain but I haven't been to Portugal yet. You made me want to discover Portugal Sincerely
Have you considered sharing the spreadsheet on Google sheets? I could then download it and have a look in depth. But amazing the trouble you went to to share these costs, your trip looked amazing!
Thank you for your kind comments Stevo, Yes, that's a good idea. Would give people more time to analyse it better. I shall look into that.. 👍 ATB, Steve
Thank you Len The roamer performed well. No problems at all. Although I now realise I need more solar power to keep it topped up fully, especially on cloudy days and considering we're all electric. Water heating was the biggest draw on the system...I'm now thinking of adding a dedicated gas feed to heat water only. ATB, Steve
Hi Kevin Yes, that's true, but it still came as a big shock.... Europe has always been thought of as cheaper on food and drink? But that's certainly not the case now..! ATB, Steve
Very interesting breakdown of life on the road, looking forward to the next adventure
Hi Chris,
Yes, the figures don't lie eh..!

Very good video. Interesting to see that grocery was such a significant amount, though shows world food inflation impact.

Hi Steve, how much solar would would you need for an air fryer and kept the battery topped up 👍
Hi i just watched this and i believe you need to knock off the groceries as you would spend that at home . Great videos
