Got the Mac Studio M2 Ultra for a week now, but never heard anything except when playing WOW at 5K (high specs) in some busy environments, but even then, it's really quiet. I really love this machine!
I was about to purchase a used M1 Max Studio (was waiting for a right deal to appear on the market) when the rumors of M2 Max Studio appeared. So I decided to wait and see, and I'm glad I did because M2 Max Mac Studio seems to have addressed every little nagging points about M1 Max Mac Studio, including the fan noise. Hopefully your full analysis will show that the M2 Max Mac Studio has indeed fixed the issues from the M1 version. Now I'll have to fork over a full new-machine price for my new Mac instead of a used price, but I think it'll be worth it because I plan to use it for a good portion of the decade.
Are you planning a full review? If so, any idea when it will be ready? You do great reviews on the thermals and loudness levels. I’m about to take the plunge and get a Mac Studio, but thermals and loudness levels are pretty important to me. (I spent a lot of money on a intel MacBook Pro in 2019 and have kind of regretted it). It throttles so much and gets so loud , that I’m anxious to replace it with a Mac Studio.

Buy and suffer, I have same thing with ps 5 then returned it back and got new one without noise, recommend to do it with mac)
