Southern harmony and musical companion is still in my top five favorite albums of all time! Albums or full compositions of multiple songs albums. I mean from the first song to the last song. Straight through in the exact order. A great album in its entirety has a life of its own. The quiet times in between the songs. From the ending of a fast tempo loud aggressive song with a bang of an ending and then the quiet. Right into the beginning of the next song. There is nothing like a great album!

The Black crowes opened for Robert plant on his solo tour for ship of fools album. Maybe 89 or 90. Went to the show in New Orleans. Great show. My dumbass brother tried to sneak back stage to meet the crowes, he was a major head and the crowes were all about the weed. He got caught and was tossed out back of the venue, super dome I think, and is where the tour busses for the bands are parked. We hook back up a few hours after the show and he has tee shirts, guitar picks, drum sticks.....all this swag. We were like wtf, he was approached by one of the crowes and he asked if they got high.....he spent an hour on their tour bus baking. He missed the entire plant show, which was amazing but....

I’d pretty much give anything to hear CRB again though. Strangely enough I have only gotten to see The Black Crowes twice since they’ve re-grouped and it doesn’t look like this new tour comes my way either.

I have always said Chris needs to write a book, actually several books and I just heard him say exactly that!! But I have never considered he might ever stop singing. PLEASE, I’m begging, please don’t ever stop singing. There’s no way to explain what Chris’s singing does for me…
I just came home from a show, Government Mule backed by an orchestra, AMAZING! I go to shows most weeks and love every minute of it, but there could never be anyone who brings to me what Chris brings. It doesn’t matter if it’s The Black Crowes, New Earth Mud, Chris Robinson, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Green Leaf Rustler. It’s all about Chris for me, the soul and depth and the real.

What you said about taking two years off and never getting it back. 100% I have arthritis (for lack of a better term) it hurt to play guitar so I stopped playing at least daily. Then my son became a professional musician, and he was coming to visit so I bought a new electric guitar and started playing every day again. The good news, I have less pain when I play, the bad news, lost my chops, lost theory, transposing on the fly, gone. I’m clawing back still 8 years on, but I’ll never be what i was. As far as the muse - again 100%. I think of it as fire and you don’t want it to go out, but it will - I just am happy knowing it will come back to me. As one gets older one hopes they can take the time to take advantage of the moment.
