He also talks with Franklin about the themes of his other works, which include Empire Falls, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2002.

    What I love about Richard Russo is the same thing I love about John Updike: his ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. They're both able to find a beauty in the mundane. Read their books & you will find your little, insignificant life validated & justified.

    I love Russo, what a great storyteller. Along his lines is Ron Carlson.
